Anyone ever give a thumbs up to the driver of a passing car that you liked?
I've never done that before, but a car that was at a stop sign was something I was surprised and happy to spot, and I gave a quick thumbs up to the driver. Pretty dorky thing to do, but hell, it was an instinctive action on my part.
I have given thumbs up (and down) to plenty of cars. What car did you see?
Ok, sports car enthusiasts are gonna roll their eyes, but at a 4 way stop on the way to Walmart, for the first time ever, I saw a new 5th gen 2024 Prius (like the pic below, but in wind chill pearl) perpendicular to me.
Awhile back, Prius owners used to give waves to each other (started I think from the show Curb Your Enthusiasm on HBO), but I was so surprised I gave a thumbs up instead. I think the driver saw it but got confused as I was in my RX and not my Prius...oh well...it was cool.
I occasionally wave at other air cooled Porsche drivers when I'm in my 993, or I'll sometimes wave at other S2000 drivers when I'm driving that. For the most part, they'll waive back.
Way too dangerous making eye contact and communicating with other drivers in L.A. Those days are long gone.
Lol....might think it's a gang sign? I used to study at USC in LA, and used to naively walk all over the area. This was in early 1990s, before Rodney King.
i mostly gave up on trying to have a thumbs up moment with other LS 400 drivers, the majority of the time they're like a million years old with their face right against the steering wheel lmao
Never happened and I don't expect that will change. Haha
Some other cars where I did get compliments and thumbs up are the MB CL500, BMW Roadster, and a Porsche and I can't forget to add my jacked up Ford Bronco.
