Car insurance is pretty high here in Oklahoma. On top of the severe storms that destroy many cars each year, we have an extremely high amount of uninsured drivers and some of the worst drivers in the country in OKC. My cars just keep going up in price with my 2001 GS300 being my most expensive car to insure, even with my perfect record.

I haven't picked up the other GS yet but will get an insurance quote this week. With my current three Lexus I pay more now than I did 4 years ago with four cars.

IIRC there's nowhere in Florida more than 60 miles from the coast as the hurricane flies.

I am with allstate and have been with them for over a decade lowest rates in NY for my vehicles other companies dont come close to touching. Also some IC won't even insure luxery cars, I called state farm and another company, they wouldn't even insure my car due to them being luxery vehicle's. This is also a problem with electric vehicles as well I was told.

The reason insurance has gone up is 3 things in my opinion first greed like every other big corporation IC have been making record profits since covid. Second everyone's driving has gotten substantially worse since the pandemic also. You have people who are just selfish and are willing to endanger people's lives so they can go get there starbucks fix 5 seconds quicker.

The last thing that is also a contributing factor is cars are getting much easier to steal with the integration of cell phone apps etc and whatnot. There is also the whole take over, slideshows whatever you wanna call these idiots.

The panhandle is so sparsely populated compared to the rest of FL. Auto insurance has to be more reasonable in a place like Crestview compared to the insanity of Miami.

It’s pretty obvious that close to water the higher the cost. Especially on the ocean side,

I never knew it was THAT high.

It is pretty high, some of the highest in the country from what I’ve read. When my mom was given her current 11 years ago, she was paying over $800 a month in homeowners insurance for a while before she found something for much less.

I’m wanting to buy a house next year, but I don’t think I can afford the insurance, in addition to my high car insurance. We have some of the worst drivers in the country here. It’s like people went nuts after 2020, and I read that 25% of drivers here do not have insurance.
