The Lexus 5.0 V8 will be missed when it's gone. Not taking any chances on when that happens, so have an LC500 coupe on order and eagerly awaiting it's arrival!

I couldn’t care less about having the fastest car. I drive cars for enjoyment not to “win”. I have never raced anybody in my life.

I love EVs but I also love a great V8. I am considering ordering a BMW 7 Series and I go back and forth on the EV vs the V8

get the ev. So manny more options than the v8. You can take it to the park and play the radio without draining the battery like you would with the v8. You always have accessory mode without draining the battery like a v8. BMW could do an over the air update releasing more power for it, not exactly possible with the v8. It’s quieter, more torque and smoother, although the v8 is impressively smooth for an engine. Get the ev. I looked at both and definitely prefer the ev. I want it all. Fast, fun AND to win.

this is no different to boy racers back in the days with their turbo 4s beating cars 10x the price. No one cares.

The drawback is you have to charge it when traveling. That’s a way bigger negative than any of those things are a positive, but I definitely love the EV. The V8 can be easily tuned for way more power.

The EV is slower than the V8

Losing? The LC was reeling in the Model 3. If this were a roll race, it would have gone a lot differently. Besides, we all know there are a lot of faster cars for the money. Speed isn't what makes an LC what it is.

Lexus has never really been fast, the F cars can barely keep up with 6 cyl mainstream German stuff so you don't really buy them for that.

The LC is so incomparably better built with higher spec materials not a single person who owns one cares about some cheap plastic clad EV like a model 3. The model is is also SLOW vs anything somewhat serious

Right, and that is why I get so frustrated sometimes on social media. I can't post more than a couple Instagram reels about my IS 500 without someone chiming in that it's slow. OK, wait a minute. Is 472 horsepower... slow now? And also, the IS 500 is severely tire-limited. That's a big reason why Lexus quotes the RC F as having a significantly better 0-60 - the tires. Besides, it is all top-end. Sure, as a 5.0 it has pretty good torque, but the engine was designed with top-end power in mind. That's why Lexus got Yamaha to help them design the cylinder head - well, that, and the glorious sound.

If the choice is between the 5.0 v8 or an electric motor, I’m choosing the electric motor every time. And while some would miss the v8 I think it’s clear generally speaking why electric is preferable. I’d love the LC with the Tesla plaid motors

For me it depends on the car. The LC's engine is part of the basis of what it is, without the great sounding V8 much of the car's appeal is lost.

In a luxury sedan like I have, bring on the EV.

These people are jealous fools who can't afford that or the EV they're stacking it up against, mostly.

Pay them no attention. Your V8 is fabulous.

I wouldn't. And neither would 99.5% of owners of these. Hear this?
