Love the PHEV powertrain in our Pacifica, but its an appliance. When I drive PHEV luxury cars like the S580e and 750e, they just dont appeal to me at all. I want those vehicles to feel incredible all the time, and only an EV or full ICE IMO can feel incredible all the time.

The spouse would be FINE with it, trust me. I wouldn't get any flack.

Right now isn't the greatest time to buy a car but if I came home with one it would be fine.

We are starting to pile up the cars, I like that a lot.

It just our house value has increased by more than double, so our real mortgage payment would be way more if we didn't get it before the boom. So we will pretend we're paying what we "really should" paying. It's ludicrous but who cares, you only live once. The Mercedes has given us so much fun, let's add another GT to the list.

@AJT123 you've given me a disturbing thought. The check I wrote back in June to buy my M3 would pay off my mortgage today. At the time I wrote it, I would have had to add $3k.

If you have a good rate on your mortgage, it makes zero sense to pay it off early. You can make more on your money investing it.

Sorry, as we all know.... logic can go right out the window when buying a car.

Like I said, it's not the perfect time to spend $70k for us, but it will happen in the next year or two. The prices are coming down and I don't want the track focused car and my guess is most of them aren't. If the perfect one comes along I'll make it happen.

I'd like to split the mileage I put on the SL500 in half. Still drive it every day or several times a week, but 3k miles a year tops.

I don't care about racking miles on a Lexus, lol that thing will be a brick.

Yep, I'm at 2.5% and we've put zero cents of extra principal towards it. I think the BMWFS rates last June were 5.3% or 5.5%. If it had been 1.9% like the prior December, I totally would have financed.

Anyway, enough of this sidetrack, back to the V8! The LC500 had been one of my final contenders, and that glorious V8 was one of the driving factors. Just a very special car.

This time around, I’m going to come home with a LC and say “honey I’m sorry. Btw, here’s your key” and hand her the 2nd key but pray she’s not brave enough to use it.

Last year when I was reviewing the 2023 LC 500 Coupe... Had my pick of 5.0s for the week. It was glorious.

I don't really care if it's the coupe anymore, we aren't dead set on a convertible since we have one already.

Your color with the light brown interior ideally is what I want, without the track/sports car stuff/options. I want all the luxury stuff.

As soon as you can get a really good one for 60-70k I'll be looking more.

In any case, one of these days over the next year or two the right one will come along and I'll make it happened, it's happened with my/our last three vehicles lol.

The LS430 I bought in 2012 and it took and year and a half, before I even joined this site haha.

If I was buying an LC500, I'd buy a convertible in Infra Red with brown interior. They look amazing.

Same. After having lived with an Infrared car for over a year, it hasn't gotten old yet. I think I fell in love with the color when I saw it on an LC 500 at my local dealership at the time. I also test-drove an RC F in Infrared. Stunning color that pairs perfectly with the tan interior!

To be clear I'm saying if the LC was an EV, it would be more compelling than the Model S. The Hybrid Max is a total tire shredding monster in the Tundra and I think it would be a perfect replacement for the V8 plus it doesnt sound half bad.

No no I'm giving you an explanation to the wife when you bring your LC home. The money saved on buying the home now is enough to cover the cost of the LC, without going into any details whatsoever.

Bold I agree with, the Hybrid Max being a replacement for a V8 I don't
