Long Live the Lexus 5.0 V8

Completely agree with this. I admire and appreciate hybrids, and have enjoyed testing plug-in hybrids. But my favorite driving experiences involve either V8s or all-electric EVs (Although I also love the BMW turbo straight six in the GR Supra and all of those Porsche flat-sixes).

Right now isn't the greatest time to buy a car but if I came home with one it would be fine.
We are starting to pile up the cars, I like that a lot.
It just our house value has increased by more than double, so our real mortgage payment would be way more if we didn't get it before the boom. So we will pretend we're paying what we "really should" paying. It's ludicrous but who cares, you only live once. The Mercedes has given us so much fun, let's add another GT to the list.

@AJT123 you've given me a disturbing thought. The check I wrote back in June to buy my M3 would pay off my mortgage today. At the time I wrote it, I would have had to add $3k.
Like I said, it's not the perfect time to spend $70k for us, but it will happen in the next year or two. The prices are coming down and I don't want the track focused car and my guess is most of them aren't. If the perfect one comes along I'll make it happen.
I'd like to split the mileage I put on the SL500 in half. Still drive it every day or several times a week, but 3k miles a year tops.
I don't care about racking miles on a Lexus, lol that thing will be a brick.

Anyway, enough of this sidetrack, back to the V8! The LC500 had been one of my final contenders, and that glorious V8 was one of the driving factors. Just a very special car.

Yep, I'm at 2.5% and we've put zero cents of extra principal towards it. I think the BMWFS rates last June were 5.3% or 5.5%. If it had been 1.9% like the prior December, I totally would have financed.

I’ve yet to sit in one let alone test drive one. But I really want one!! I passed on one few years ago because I had to sell my wife on something with a usable backseat. I even googled car seats in LC 500. It looked like a tight fit.
This time around, I’m going to come home with a LC and say “honey I’m sorry. Btw, here’s your key” and hand her the 2nd key but pray she’s not brave enough to use it.
Count me in as well!!
Just get it. Ask for forgiveness rather than ask for permission. Not like you’re buying it from target or Amazon, can’t just return it once your bring it home.🤣 She will eventually get over it and love it!! Hopefully🤣

Your color with the light brown interior ideally is what I want, without the track/sports car stuff/options. I want all the luxury stuff.
As soon as you can get a really good one for 60-70k I'll be looking more.
In any case, one of these days over the next year or two the right one will come along and I'll make it happened, it's happened with my/our last three vehicles lol.
The LS430 I bought in 2012 and it took and year and a half, before I even joined this site haha.

To be clear I'm saying if the LC was an EV, it would be more compelling than the Model S. The Hybrid Max is a total tire shredding monster in the Tundra and I think it would be a perfect replacement for the V8 plus it doesnt sound half bad.

Bold I agree with, the Hybrid Max being a replacement for a V8 I don't
