A supercharger for an F150 does not cost $100,000. Maybe $15,000.
It says 1k HP with twin turbos. How long do you think the stock powertrain would holdup under that stress? Way more than $15k in upgrades and still needs a roll to beat it.

I said a supercharger might cost $15,000, but that car has nowhere near $100k in mods done to it. The stock powertrain is pretty robust, but you will obviously have reliability issues.

Obviously a Plaid is faster than even that truck modified that way and is also a much more reliable vehicle that can be driven every day. My point was just because a Plaid is faster doesn't mean the owner doesn't enjoy the modifications he has done...they are very different vehicles.

Of course the cost of the truck is also factored in. Think of it this way...a Dodge Demon 170 that has 1024 HP (6.2L V8) and is street legal, is a 9 second car can't beat a Plaid, that car is $136k. Anyway, this is off topic

The owner enjoying modding is a different from what we are talking about. The point is, you can't beat a Plaid unless you spend a lot of money and resources, and even then, let's see him beat a Plaid from a dead stop

But why do we need to beat a Plaid?

We don't. It's my fault, I should have just ignored Strikers comment he made yesterday and moved on, so I take the blame

Mitsubishis used to be very popular here in Memphis back in the 90s and 2000s. Although even back then they mostly sold to lower credit type of customers that are buying Nissans today. I remember seeing them trashed and abused. They’re not nearly as popular now that the Galant is gone and the Mirage has been downgraded to a subcompact.

About 10 years ago, my folks picked up a cheap 98 Montero Sport as a beater to keep at their vacation property for off-roading. They spent about $1k on it and the interior was still immaculate with no rattles. It had almost 300,000 miles on the odometer. Needed minor engine work(couple hundred $) to get it running fine.

That's not the Mitsubishi of today by any means.

You're a smart guy but just can't wrap it around your head that stock EV's perform better. I wonder what you're going to say when all those new under $50k Model 3 Performance hit the road eating all those sports cars lunches 🤣

Idk about that man. I have a Honda too and haven’t spent near that much. E85🌽 is cheaper than gas so he saved a little. 🤣

EV crowd, why can’t you just say “wow that truck is fast”🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Sometimes it’s ok to tip your cap. You guys get so sensitive anytime a vehicle with a GAS engine appears to do anything better than an EV. It’s crazy.

That truck is 4WD. From a stop I don’t think the results would be any different. That’s a 4,200lbs truck give or take 1-200lbs. And it appears to be street legal in every state except maybe California.

There are boosted F150s similar setup running high 8 sec 1/4 mile.

Sure..wow that Truck was fast! But that wasn't point of all the back and forth. Nobody is denying it isn't fast, it was extremely fast, but you are racing a highly modified non street legal vehicle against one that is stock and street legal. It's like you racing a stock Type R and super excited you tore it a new one...pointless.

If you read further, I was counting the cost of truck as well.

Just like you are pointing out, why is it that people just can't admit that the Plaid is just fast, without having to modify it? It seems people are not satisfied and try to lessen the significance of is as a performance vehicle because its and EV. Anyway, lets please end this, it's just so pointless to me

Actually, the company DOES sell a lot of vehicles worldwide...just not much here any more in the American market.

The plaid is fast and I think it takes 1,000hp gas vehicle to compete with it. You can easily build something to beat a plaid for cheaper than what a plaid cost. Believe it or not, that truck is street legal.

The plaid is like when the GTR came out. It was faster than everything on the street and everyone wanted to beat it. Tip my hat to the plaid and the F150.
