four score and seven years ago, my brother eric set out to build street machine. now this wouldnt be your normal street machine. sure it would be v8 powered, all-american muscle, but not in the vein of the mustang, camaro, nova or any other classic, timeless design. no, young E decided to go with the worlds first disposable car, a 1973 Chevy Vega. so over the last 10 years (and like 3 separate Vegas) his work has now come to fruition. and as much as i joke with him about it, this thing is pretty damn nice. worked 355 inch small block good for about 500 hp. nice lil 125 shot of the giggle juice (that he hasnt mustered the courage to use). 4 speed manual. tubbed rear and roll bars. i look forward to getting back to atl next week and putting it through its paces. the best he has run is a 12.5 @ 115, all motor.........amateur. here are some pics. when i say that he is "eat up" with this car, it may be an understatement.......

Ahhh... Chevy vega.... I worked on my dads old vega (think it was a 73 as well) from the time I wanted to drive till we sold it a few years ago.. We never drove it, it was just sitting in our driveway.. I always wanted to drop an engine in there, but he never really wanted to do it. We finally sold it to a guy who's doing it... Turning it into a drag car. He called my dad up a while ago and said it was done, my dad saw it... very impressed that he turned his old vega into what it is now.
