Any Lexus dealer will sell extended warranties. Your car has to be within the regular warranty though to get the Platinum extended warranty

I don't think Lexus or any other OEM offers warranties on 10 year old vehicles. Generally if the car is under the original factory warranty, you can extend a few years but I am not aware of any OEM taking on the risk of insuring a 10+ year old car.
Obtaining a 3rd party warranty on a 10 year old vehicle might be a possibility, but could cost as much as the car is worth.
If you are not the original owner, it will be even more expensive. Why? Because the insurance company will want you to attest to the fact nothing is wrong with the car when the contract is signed. If you don't know because you are not the original owner, that is a higher risk for them.

Short answer is you cannot buy a Lexus Vehicle Service Agreement (VSA) for this car.
Like @SW17LS said, the Platinum Plan is only available while the factory warranty is still in effect.
The car exceeds the 9-year age requirement for the Gold Plan. It is within the 100,000 mile requirement and (barely) within the 12-year age requirement for the Powertrain Only Plan. However, both of these plans have one additional clause that your use of the phrase "my 2012 ES 350" excludes you from:
Your best bet is to take the $3k or so you would have paid for one of these plans and stick it in a HYSA. Most likely in 4 years you will still have some or all of that money left, and therefore will be better off than if you had been able to purchase a VSA.

I was offered a LEXUS warranty when I bought the car at the Lexus Dealer. I intended to pay off the note in a couple of months and didn't want an extra $3500 warranty to be paid up front. Since then I paid $5000 in repairs just to get the door locks to work. At this point I have paid enough to have paid the (*&^%$ warranty. Dealer says they only offer it at the time of sale. There are dealers across the nation that will sell their warranties- That is who I am looking for.

stopped responding to key fob. then doors would not lock electronically. UNLOCK ok...first diag was the control panel in the driver door. $800. Then the locks failed after 2 days. next diag was a door lock regulator in the diver side passenger door. $800. Failed again after 2 days. Next diag was the BCM was overheating and causing a signal lag(?). $1700 and so far they work. Bought an Endurance warranty- noop not covered. Upgraded the waranty and waited 30 days an 1000 miles. BCM- noop not covered. Lexus says their Platinum Warranty covers it. This ES350 was a 3 owner -same dealership car. Serviced at that dealesrhip (SEWELL). within 2 months- getting oil changed- I am told the axle CV boot is split- hmmm.. Dealer swears it was inspected. Dealer reputation allowed me to forgo my due diligence and not take it to my local mechanic to be inspected. I had GREAT experiences with a 2002 Avalon and a 2006 Avalon- couldn't find an Avalon at a reputable dealer in my area- so I looked at Lexus- not been great.

The ES and the Avalon are essentially the same car, its not a difference between the two. Its luck, and age...its 12 years old, lots that can go wrong with any car that age.
Find a good independent mechanic...the dealer is too expensive to diagnose issues on older cars.

yes-- I traded in the 2002 Avalon on the 12 year old car....I have always- usually- had good luck with older , low mileage cars. Hopefully this one is done for a while. The 02 Avalon had window regulator issues. after 2 aftermarket failures, I got a Toyota regulator- worked great. for the next 10 years.

Window regulator and door lock actuator issues are very common on Toyotas. The parts are identical, you should be fine going forward. Issue is the dealer replaced a lot of stuff they didn't have to, google the concept of the "Parts Cannon".
Thats why older car = no dealer.

Warranties are not worth it on an old Lexus.
Too many conditions and fine print. They cover things that dont go wrong but not for things that do.
you did buy a Lexus for reliability so just bank on that.
your dealer took you for a ride, I can imagine one part being faulty but not all at the same time.
