Yeah, it's called an acceleration/blend lane, not a stop lane.

I understand the desire to be cautious, but I sometimes think that we Americans are over cautious. I tend to be less irritated in traffic when driving in europe than in the states. And this is considering that I've driven in Romania where there are sometimes horse carts on the highways.

The easiest way to disable the feature it grow older. Your hearing goes so you cant hear it and your attention span decreases to sync with blink rate and you dont even see it.

You can put all the alarms you want on a car. None of them will fix crappy driving. I would prefer that this be invested in better driver training. Is there going to be a honk alert for the jackass who cuts across three lanes because they were too stupid to plan ahead and refused to miss their exit? Didn’t think so.

People are getting used to these seemingly anonymous warning beeps found in modern vehicles, and just keep going. I've had my mailbox run over 2x in the past couple years by people backing out of my driveway. They both just ignored the ultra sonic sensors beeping away at them trying to warn of the impending collision.

LMAO! Speaking of that, our car received the Tesla FSD demo/free month. Let me tell you, there is no napping happening in this car. It will remind you to pay attention the minute you close your eyes.

You could tape the cabin camera, put a weight on the wheel and take your nap and enjoy 5mph under speed limits. Win win situation.

I always thought car manufacturers could create a really loud noise and beep when one tailgates. I’d support that. As for the beep when you speed, I don’t really speed so I don’t really care.. I understand the nanny state argument and objecting , I can support that

I don't think it is a law yet. It was just passed by one house, the Senate, according to what I saw.

Tailgating happens every time I drive. I do not drive in the left lane. I only use it to pass. It’s quite common that I am going 70 mph or so and there’s traffic in front of me and the idiot behind me is within half a car length of my back bumper. I hate driving now because of stuff like this. Whatever. Working from home is good.

I kinda hate driving now too. The only time I enjoy driving is very early Saturday and Sunday morning.

Translation, when less crazy drivers are on the road.

I don't blame you.

Depends on how early in tthe morning. Some drunk and buzzed drivers are on the roads early in the morning after having imbibed too much on Friday and Saturday nights....you don't want to be on the road with them.
