They use a new S68 V8 motor with 523hp.
The X3 M50 has an updated B58 with more hp/tq

Love mineral white...
I don't hate this the way I hated the 7 and 5 when I first saw them, now I like the 7 and I don;t dislike the 5, so my guess is it will grow on me.

They said all along that the beaver teeth were just for certain models

I like it.
A lot more creative than the refrigerator white Elantra I had back in the day.
It looked cheap, but yours doesn't.
At least this white looks high end.
And, I don't see many white cars with black leather but that's what I'd want if I get another white car.

agreed!
angry birds headlights.
horrible proportions and curves 'shoe' side profile, imo.
this could be described as "elon on crack" interior.
elon on crack and ayahuasca smoothie.
if that's conservative, i'd hate to see what progressive would be, haha

As a current 2023 X3 owner, I am not sure how to feel about it. The exterior is fine. Nothing great, but not hideous like some of BMW's other recent debuts (<cough> 5-series <ahem). The interior looks pretty horrific in the photos above, though I will say it seems better on video, where I can get a sense of what it'd be like to actually sit in it. Here's one:
A few things I don't like:
A few things I don't like:
- There is just a little too much ambient lighting. I like the ambient lighting in our X3, which is pretty subtle - perhaps a bit too dim, but I'd rather it be dim and subtle than in-my-face. While I am sure it's fun to play with the colors, I think they could have gone with thinner lines or less-distracting designs.
- The plain dashboard in front of the passenger is giving econobox. Not a good-looking design.
- The air vent controls for the side air vents on the dashboard are now touch-sensitive sliders. I don't know why they felt the need to reinvent the wheel on this one. Maybe they can be electronically controlled automatically? Who knows?
- The M50 no longer has a nice stitched-leather airbag cover like the outgoing M40i. Cost-cutting is on display, rather than hidden.
- The galvanic (metallic-looking and feeling) window/mirror controls on the door are gone. I suspect they will be an option that we have to pay for, which is laughable on a vehicle this expensive. They are standard on 2024 and earlier X3's.
- This is more subjective than anything, but I feel the new X3 looks more like a pumped-up X1 than the outgoing X3. It has lost a bit of the SUV-ness that it previously had, which I think was part of its identity. The sides are also a bit monolithic rather than having any depth as before.

I watched this video too and thought overall it looked better in the flesh. The ambient lighting is too much for my taste and it's the same with a lot of the new cars these days. It's hard to call it ambient anymore. I wonder how much you can dim it?

I think next gen of cars will not have these goofy screens and will back away from the minimalist approach but thats far away.
Every time i drive my old M3 with actual gauges, makes me admire the minor design details.
Dynamically and how it’s positioned - the new X3 is still best in class and should continue to sell well. I’m sure the M50 variant will be awesome. I have had two X3 M40s and they are awesome and very fast/sporty. The new one will be even better performance.
