This is the problem with not using the metric system and looking at inches. The Toyota 5.7 is 5663cc which is an exact measurement it is also 5663 millilitre, converted to imperial is exactly 345.6 just like you said. But what is .6 of an inch?

A true 350 engine is 5735cc. I believe Chevrolet has a true 350 V8 also 5.7 litres but not the same size as Toyota's 5.7 which is actually smaller at 346

The US Military actually uses the metric system. (with some rare omissions in some segments). WW2 US used the metric system for Army ground forces.

Huh? 56xx cubic centimeters in the 3UR equates to 5.7 liters. They always round up. If it were 54xx it wouldn't be a true 5.7 liter.

All I know is 5.7 liters is a very healthy size and a pretty large V8.

you really owe it to yourself to drive one of the 1998-2000 LS or GS 400s with the updated 300hp 1UZ, totally different animal to the original version and impressively punchy for its size (and age at this point) with a significantly broader power curve... although now that you're used to a B58 it may no longer feel quite as torquey haha

now the 4.6 in my crown vic THAT was a total dog, ford should be ashamed for selling such an engine into the 2010s

If you remember, Ford put that engine in the 2003/2004 Mercury Marauder. I test-drove one, and, yes, I agree..it was no match for the 5.7L Impala SS.

the version in the marauder is at least DOHC and has other minor upgrades here and there (essentially the mustang GT engine i think), the crown vic only ever had the basic 2 valve modular engine which made very little power or torque at any rpm... sure drank gas like it did though lol

I have that engine in my Encore GX, and it has enough torque for all my normal driving needs, even with AWD. I get up to 50 MPG cruising on the highway at moderate speeds, even though it's EPA-rated much lower than that. And the torque speak is at a very low 1500-1700 RPM, so there is enough power to easily get you rolling from a stop. The engine's only flaw is a tendency to have more vibrations at low speeds than those with more cylinders, but even that is managed pretty well with Buick's well-known Quiet Tuning system, I'd buy another one in a heartbeat....at least if I wasn't going to keep it 200,000 miles.
