on the plus side it does keep the V8TT, but the damn thing now weighs 5400 lbs!!! over 1100 lbs heavier than the outgoing model, and as a result actually ends up with a worse power/weight ratio... as of right now i think the G30 might be the last desirable 5 series, i certainly have no interest in a 'sports sedan' that weighs as much as an F250

Holy cow! 5400lbs is more than our heavy X3 M40i, which people bemoaned as way too heavy.

Styling wise, I'm getting used to the slab sided BMW design language, and this looks pretty good to me. Then again, I'm a sucker for anything with big rear fender bulges haha.

Wow! I'm surprised how much I like this. That green is really cool.

Nice beefy sidewall on those tires.

the rear view is the only angle that fails for me lol, from the front it looks properly aggressive for an M car and definitely says BMW... a nice step up from the standard G60 5er

It looks good, IMO.

But 5,000 lbs is porky pig for a sedan.

Holy $#!% that's heavy. That's nearly 1000 more than my W12 somehow! Hell I think that's the same as the Sequoia.......those poor tires.

Amazing car - everything I ever wanted in a sport sedan.

- 5,500 lbs not as heavy as a Cyber Truck at least
- Exhaust sounds like a 4cyl
- Giant LCD screen with idiotic gauges
- No Shifter in ///M car 👎
- Bazillion driving modes
- Not any faster than F90 M5
- Amazing Iconic grill that lights up is just the cherry on top!

LOL I sense just a little sarcasm here.

I don't think it looks that bad but the weight is killer. It weighs more than an X7 40i, heck it weighs more than my Plaid! Holy crap that is heavy, seems like we are going backwards.

It's funny seeing how many push PHEV's as a last cope against EV's when this thing weighs 500 pounds more than the EV version lol

We're at about the peak of EV-dom and most of us don't want hybrids either.

How bout a pure ICE M5???

Can't happen due to EU CO2 emission regs. This one has less CO2 emission than a B58 due to it being PHEV.

Took 30 years to add around 200+kg, then we added over 570+kg in 1 generation.
Here's a sobering chart:

Knowing BMW, those reported power figures are probably 10 to 15% too conservative and the quoted time is actually .5s quicker. It also might have trouble putting down all that torque at lower RPMs.
