The alignment rack will have a printer right on it, and printing off the specs before and after. Most shops put these printouts in your paperwork to show you what the results were. That's extremely dishonest to charge for an alignment that wasn't done. I have used a few different alignment racks and they all saved every vehicles results. They were tied into the rest of the service department computer system. So you would just enter the repair order and then the service writer would be able to print the results without asking the tech to reprint them. You should ask the service manager to please get the before and after printouts for you.

Great clarification. So they definitely are not being honest when they say they can't provide the printout of the alignment, unless if the alignment wasn't performed.

When replying to posts, it is a good idea to quote the original post so that folks know who "you" is referring to. If it's me, I don't like to jump to conclusions. Obviously, the possibility existed that the dealership did not do any work, and I had considered that from the beginning. If you read my original comment, you'd see I asked OP if they thought the alignment hadn't been done at all and if they had any specific alignment issues needing fixed. Just trying to get more information.

Also, my latest post was more in reference to the fact that the way these alignment machines work, it is unreasonable for the dealer to say "we don't keep those" when talking about the print-outs, based on the NEW INFORMATION provided by the previous post.

I’d hate not having a sense of humor. Sorry you don’t. No more counseling please.

Alignment machines have had printer capability since the late 80's.

Why?
Because customers want to see what they're paying for TODAY.

Not 10,000 miles later by diagnosing the tire wear. Lol

Uncalibrated machines, though, mean uncalibrated prints.
