Passes my eye test, but then I'm not really an Audi person, and if someone told me that was the old model, I wouldn't debate it.

I think it looks great, and their UI needed a big overhaul. Hate the buttons for the shifter.

As for the trim around the intakes in the front, just get the black optics package.

As for burn the old one, the old one is a great looking car so I don’t get that.

Even better if it was a little bigger and longer.

Both sedan and wagon form look nice. The new naming scheme will take me some time to get used to

Overall disappointing. The current model has harder edges, which I feel are more current and sporty. This new one looks soft. Also dislike the pronounced hatchback look of the "sedan." Still sticking with the a sedan should look like a sedan, a truck should look like a truck, and an SUV should look like an SUV. Compared to the current, low-slung A5, this is not a visual upgrade. Audi lost with their name changing game. This should have been called an A4.
Rear styling reminds me of the flamboyant Hyundai Elantra, the high tech door handles stand out more than traditional door handles, those front, side intakes are totally ugly and overdone, and today's trend of one long rectangle for the dashboard is about as appealing as a 1970's Buick land yacht. Why are we all okay with the aesthetics of this new trend? I think back to the simple, yet elegant dash of the 2003 A4, and we've gone astray to artful interiors.

The new front grille seems to have a pre-refresh Ford Escape/Honda HR-V vibe to it.

Because many people myself included like that layout for an interior. The interior of a 2003 A4 was great in 2003, but cars are more high tech now and that was a generation ago.

This new "compact" A5 is now basically the same size as the midsize final GS lol

Haha this is how i feel - everytime i tried to give Audi a chance, i was underwhelmed by how they drove and the interior compared to BMW.

I like this update- much better styling, traditional interior and most importantly still has the V6 motor! Too bad no more coupe and convertible.

This may seem petty, but I was super turned-off by all the gloss-black in the center console area. Our X3 has even less than this, and I still hate it. I would have to keep a duster and/or microfiber towel handy at all times.

Also, someone in the comments of Autogefuhl's video commented how sloppy the stitching on the armrest looks in the model with the cloth seats.

I kinda agree...

Both of our cars have some gloss black and that stuff drives me nuts. I'll detail the interior in the garage and when I back out there's dust and random small spots that I missed.

Yea high gloss black trim is terrible. Matte finish has to be cheaper and looks so much better. Not sure why manufacturers insist on using it.
