Sometimes dealerships get advance-samples before they go into mass production. I got to see the all-new Lincoln Aviator, for example, before it went into full production, one morning at Ted Britt in Chantilly when a Ford official brought one down from HQ as a factory-demo vehicle. If my memory is correct, I think they even allowed me a brief test drive.

Seeing how the domestics can do big 3 row BOF suvs so well, just makes me shake my head every time I see a Sequoia. It was designed and engineered in America by an American engineer. It's like they were oblivious to what customers want and how well the domestics are doing in this segment. It could would have been the first $100k+ Lexus that sells in meaningful numbers. Just a lost opportunity.

OK, fine....no problem. That may (?) have been my bad, but I had no idea exactly when the shots were released, or when we would see the actual vehicle at dealerships. In fact, many styling updates (as you well know) are kept under wraps (literally) with bras, body-tape, dark-tinted-out windows, dash-covers, and other physical disguises designed to ward off the spy-photos. Often, when the disguises are taken off, that can be a sign that they are about to be shipped to dealerships.

Nothing beats the snarl of that 6.2... The more I drive it the more it attaches itself to my heart. Toyotas have fake V8 noises coming through the speakers, what a shame. To be fair it's not just them.

i've never been an engine, exhaust (or any other car) noise fan. i want as little noise as possible, from the engine, exhaust, tires, road, wind, etc.
it's funny i have an lc500, praised widely for its loud exhaust, lol.

I like a little noise. My S580 has a great exhaust note, it’s very subdued but it sounds really good. As much as I love the sound of the LC’s engine note I would get tired of that every day.

i love that split personality. and with the 10 speed, at 75mph you're only doing 1500 rpm.

the amazing thing about the lc though is the exhaust is truly jekyl and hyde. if you drive it 'normally' it's not loud at all. it's only when you basically floor it and let the revs go high that it gets intense.

I wasn't a huge fan of these transmissions with this many gears, but the 10 speed in the Yukon is the smoothest and most imperceptible transmission I've ever experienced.
And I haven't even tried the ZF 8 speed!!!!
