We're finally done for a while. The Denali is officially ours now after some wheelin' and dealin'.
We've spent a lot on cars. Still want that LC500 though, but it's not the end of the world because we already have the SL convertible that looks just as good, paid for.

Not a fan of Raiti, but I do really like the refresh Escalade. The screen and interior is even growing on me.

They need to dump the new 1000hp ZR-1 engine into an Escalade.
People would buy every single one, and god only knows how expensive they’d be.
I guess I could sell my house…

This is not like the LT4, which has plenty of low end grunt on its own, even before you layer in the 3 liter supercharger to boost it further. There would literally be a line item for “replace engine” on the maintenance schedule, my guess is every 20-30k, at a cost of around $60-80k each time.

I suspect that it won't be long before we start to see electric motors in these large SUVs. Electric motors are known for making a LOT of torque at very low revs...theoretically, max torque at just off 0 RPM.
For proof, just go test-drive a Tesla.

An 8000+ rpm, naturally imbalanced engine with very little bottom-end torque is a HORRIBLE choice for a large SUV that weighs over 3 tons, no matter how much power it makes at redline.
