......meaning what? Today's Cadillac customers? The former traditional ones? Please clarify. To be honest, I liked them when I was a teenager, back in the 1960s. My late uncle had one..I took a girl friend I was dating at the time to the photo-studio in it to get our official high-school pictures taken.

Anyhow, back to the new Escalade. That new Star-Ship-Enterprise wall-to-wall video screen is a little much. And it looks like they even have a second, smaller secondary one jammed in at an angle between the console and the dash LOL

So you’re saying dead people DO buy cars?

No. I'm saying that not all traditional Cadillac customers have one (or both) feet in the grave. The article I posted gave a good summary on that.

The averages don’t lie. Before Cadillac reinvented itself their average buyer age was near 70. Now it’s much lower.

You have to come to terms with that fact that what you want Cadillac to be just doesn’t have a place in the modern car industry.

This thing has automatic doors that open and close.

And the driver door opens as you approach, and yes it’s customizable.

That is absolutely sick.

Yep...just what you need when it's raining. Nice way to soak all the electric power-switches on the driver's door panel with water and short them out

It will be customizable like I said. I’m sure if the rain sensor goes off it deactivates. And I’m sure you can set it to open at several different detents or whatever.

One thing I like about the GMC is the rear door you can open normally or set it for 3/4ths height for low garages etc.. The doors in the new ‘Slade won’t be a problem, they’ll be a huge luxury.

That 3/4 height-option is a standard GM parts-bin rotary-switch, not only on GMC products. You will also find it on the cheapest Buicks.

It’s clever and strikes me as something an American car would have, for example how American cars had auto headlights before everyone else.

Theres not one cheap feeling switch in the Yukon. They’ve got it down close to Lexus level if not equal in some areas.

I wonder how you customize it, etc. I’m guessing the system is “smart” for parking lots, etc. your garage etc.

Just a very neat feature usually on Rolls Royces.

That Escalade V above, LITERALLY my dream car.

The system has sensors all along the side of the car so it doesn't hit things with the doors etc.

To me the power opening doors are annoying. The power CLOSING doors are another matter. Get in and put your foot on the brake and the door closes, great feature.

massive cost cutting with the removal of every single button on the dashboard.

touchscreens probably cost the least amount of money
