The only not-so-nice-looking g30 I've seen was a blacked out m550i with spacers (and like 7yo tires or something like that - classic) - was a bit... immature. The rest are just the killer mid-size sedan look - same for the 3series of its era. Not sure how they managed to screw up the current gen so much, hope the design shuffle will indeed bear good fruit.

Personally its hard to step down for a V8 mainly for the sound. I don't care if its slower than a V6TT. I think that is where the subjective opinions come in. Some prefer speed / acceleration vs sound...just personal taste and we can't convince another to change their personal preference.

That would be my dilemma with an EV. The sound and gear changes are a big part of the experience....however its hard to ignore the cost savings and convenience if you have access to charging at home.

The compromise than (since this is an ICE forum) is an IS350 with F-SPORT lower air intake. Sounds sweet at throttle, smooth as butter, and still fast, but not V8 fast

The IS350 is too slow though and is very RPM dependent, doesn't have much under 4500. Sounds good for a 6 though I'll give it that and it's the smoothest in its class

I had a tune that took the RPM limiter to 7200. I never went past 7000k because valve float happened at 7300k. It actually loved to live above 5000, it was sluggish below 4000

It was definitely no V8, but I easily took several WRX's off the line. The exception was if they were tuned with bolt-on's, but I could still take those off the line until about 50

My brother has a 2007 IS350 he is actually about to sell (he got a porsche boxter). Smooth and quick (not your EV quick though lol), but honestly not a fan of the sound. Wasnt bad by any means but wouldn't say I loved it. I think Mercedes V6 M276 sounds better. IMO that powertrain is a bit underrated...sounds good, reliable and the 7 speed transmission is great.

That is horrible! But I'm not surprised they're okay. MBs are very safe vehicles.

I had the 2010, they made some improvements. listen to the 0-60 run I did in the link in my signature, this is pre F-Sport induction. And here is another one:

I don't know, sounds sweet to me, but this is subjective
