I remember that Top Gear review of an Alfa where all of its faults were mocked as "soul" lol

not really comparable. it's half the price for one and for another not everyone is all about 'matching' speed, especially in a grand tourer.
i also don't particularly like the amg gt interior. i find it a bit gaudy.

Too bad Lexus didn’t put a high output V8 hot v twin turbo. And the rear seat delete to make it a two seater. And remote touch wasn’t a very good idea.

Yeah, I find myself preferring the interior of the LC500 between those two options.

This is probably the nicest used Infiniti I've ever seen for sale. One owner, 30K miles, no accidents, no mods, fully loaded. And it's an M45 to boot which was only sold for two years in the US. Actually tempted if only to save it from the modders lol

EDIT: Apparently the dealer bought it from Bring a Trailer. $15,000 is an absolute steal.

lexus doesn't offer a ttv8 on anything. while they apparently had one developed in house, and may still release it, it will no doubt raise the price by a sustantial amount. i really don't need more speed in my lc. although the throttle response is very different, the lc and ioniq 5 appear to be about as fast as one another but i'm sure the lc would win on top speed, not that i'm about to try that.

as for remote touch, that's now gone for 2024. the touchpad on mine isn't great, but it's not as bad as that dreadful lexus joystick/palmrest thing, lol.

While the functionality of the refreshed LC interior is better I like the looks of the pre-refresh where the screen is more integrated but the touchpad was a disaster. Too bad they couldn’t do a wheel controller like BMW, that would have worked perfectly with the integrated screen. The touchscreen just looks like an afterthought to me.

Lexus might go down as the own luxury brand to not offer a V8 turbo. What tier does that put them?

maybe Lexus will release a high performance EV flagship too

i have pre-refresh but don't consider touchpad a 'disaster' lol. i use apple carplay always and voice commands a lot.

i don't care about 'tiers' but i've never considered lexus on an equal footing with mercedes for example, especially with maybach and amg. and i don't think lexus does either. the investment they'd need to make would be gigantic and no guarantee of a return.

at some point probably, but likely years and years away. all ev's are high performance too.

These were nice cars, fast. Definite sleepers.

Oh I'm sure. I never tow large loads/close to capacity, and if I did I would have an actual pickup truck. LX tows my boat wonderfully though, and it should be noted that even though you're dissatisfied, the AHC has it all leveled out like it's supposed to which helps.

there's truth here but only for a small fraction of all mercedes sold... the majority of benzes on the road are just overpriced FWD chassis with plastic interiors

was down in charlottesville VA for a wedding last weekend... cruise control set at ≈75 for most of the interstate stuff, first 65 miles or so was a state highway with the occasional traffic light, and of course there was like 15 min of slow moving traffic once i got to the GW bridge... still have almost 10 gallons left in the tank! took just over 6 hours

this was also the furthest south i'd ever been with the car, I-495 outside of DC is kinda fun! some good apexes to hit in those long sweeping bends haha

lol what about the G-Wiz? that's one i remember 'you lot' would use 'round london

when kristen scott thomas was the top gear guest she pointed out that on a rainy night in that car you had to choose between wipers or headlights, using both at once would kill the range haha
