Nope.....not quite what I said. I said that most (not all) of the 45-series tires I've owned or test-driven, regardless of the actual sidewall height, have not, by my standards, measured up to my own level (opinion) of driving comfort. Some exceptions are from Hyundai/Genesis, older BMWs....and possibly a few Mercedes products.
What you should start saying is "low profile tires" instead of assigning the issue to a specific aspect ratio. Some 45 series tires are low profile, some aren't.
I think part of this discussion centers around the fact that some of us may have varying ideas of what is considered comfortable and what isn't. That is going to vary from person to person. Your idea of ride "comfort" may not be the same as mine....or of other CL members.

Do you understand the illogicality of that statement? The tires that were 45 series tires you drove on you felt delivered a poor quality ride...but you extend that experience to all 45 series tires by making blanket statements when by your own admission 45 series tires vary widely in sidewall width depending on the width of the tire's tread.

I think you and I likely have pretty similar ideas of what is a comfortable ride.

No, I did not say that. I said (and I'm getting tired of repeating it) that I found most 45s, paired with most suspension systems and correct PSIs in them, to be firmer-riding than I care for. There have been some exceptions....I did not make any totally-blanket-statements, and there is nothing illogical in what I said. So, with all due respect, IMO, this matter is closed.
Like I said, just say low profile tires instead of referring to a specific aspect ratio. The former makes sense, the latter makes no sense.
For sheer riding-comfort, probably nothing could beat the 1969 Lincoln Continental I once had the privilege of sampling when I was a teen-ager (my late father once worked at the old Philco-Ford company, and would bring home company vehicles after work...I did a Car Chat thread on that). For sheer quietness and lack of noise......the 4th-generation (2007-2017) Lexus LS460 probably took the cake...it had to be the quietest vehicle I've ever sampled. Your former 5th-Generation version may (?) have been even quieter, but I do not recall sampling one.
I never had a 5th generation LS. I had two 4th generation ones. They were quiet but my S Classes are quieter. All of them are on 45 series tires with very different sidewall thicknesses too lol

something cheap you can try until construction is completed. I use them to keep the dust off.

I would rather have some seasonal cool weather, some snow, then have to deal with a hurricane (or two or or three per year). my sister lives down south, she lost all power. We have no idea if she is ok or what’s going on. I don’t know how she does it.
so these cars are they now are write off? Is it possible to even fix them?
the type of tire also makes a difference too. Not all tires ride soft
great video

Its common on these cars, there is a second when you put your foot on the throttle where it takes a half second for the TPS to register your input. When our LS400 was new we brought it in and we were told it was normal, and we drove 3-4 other new LS400s at the dealer and they were all the same way. Putting it in ECT PWR helps it. The LS430 was a little better, and the 460s better still. The worst was my 2003 ES300.
also yes my dad got a new camry SE V6 (3MZ) in 2004 and that has hilariously bad throttle response, love that car though it wasn't until i drove a 7th gen chevy malibu for drivers ed in 2011 that i learned to appreciate just how "not bad at all" that camry is haha

oh damn ok i'm starting to understand why you're only very fond of the 1998 LS and not absolutely gushing like i am lol... they must've been working to optimize the software because i can tell you by the time my car was built in may of 1999 they really got the throttle calibration dialed in

I remember reading a lot of complaints about that on the 4ES. When I was thinking about getting one of those. Some people said it was dangerous.

Throttle lag. Push gas pedal takes a moment for engine to respond.
