Interesting. My parents had a very early build 3.5 engine when it debuted. My father complained that the throttle was way too sensitive, so the service department adjusted it and dialed it back a little as per a TSB

the type of tire also makes a difference too. Not all tires ride soft

great video

Yep they fixed it by then. I had an 07 RX 350 and I thought the throttle calibration was perfect.

3.5 was fine, the 3.0 and 3.3 were an issue. Dangerous maybe if somebody was just entirely unfamiliar with the car but you learned to adapt to it.

Decided it was time to do my plugs at about 55k. Planning to go stage 1 so new plugs were needed anyway. Inline engines are so much easier to change the spark plugs on.

Its nonexistant with the V8. Honestly I never noticed any lag even without the 48v system
Its common on these cars, there is a second when you put your foot on the throttle where it takes a half second for the TPS to register your input. When our LS400 was new we brought it in and we were told it was normal, and we drove 3-4 other new LS400s at the dealer and they were all the same way. Putting it in ECT PWR helps it. The LS430 was a little better, and the 460s better still. The worst was my 2003 ES300.
Can't speak to those since I didn't have them, my 4GS had good throttle response, same engine as your 3GS. My 5ES was also good, my 4ES and my 2LS were the worst.

Yep, same era.

The RWD SC300, GS300, and IS300 of the late 90s/early 2000s all had the same drivetrain and (more or less) the same hesitation problem with the engine/transmission ECU control unit. Factory-approved computer re-flashings and updates were supposed to help it, but they did not always work. The ES300 of the same era, with the V6 and a different FWD transmission, also had a similiar problem...but, outside of that, I thought that it, and the ES330, were the best ES models ever built.

I've seen this happen at jobs sites maybe it's the resin in engineered lumber?
