Oddly enough the wipers hide in a lot of new Mercedes that way. They hide a little bit in the S580 and that C class I had they hid too

You don't need a filler pad. you're still getting light from the windows etc, the point of the sunshade is to keep the heat off the dash

Yeah, On my Lexus the washer jets act like they’re clogged for the first few seconds while wipers start wiping the windshield. Doesn’t bother me much though. Also the wipers will sweep one more time a few seconds after using the washer function.

Actually. most vehicles I have owned in more recent years. It takes the fluid a couple of seconds to actually squirt out onto the glass, but the wipers start immediately when you hit the wash button.
I would prefer a system where you hit the washer button to get the fluid onto the glass first, and THEN the wipers would start sweeping....even with a separate wipe button.
In fact, when washers first became available, it was often set up that way...separate ***** or switches for wash and wipe. Then somebody got the idea to combine them.

For the AE86, I actually removed the washers and had the holes welded over when I had it painted in 2001. It’s SoCal and the car is not ever going to be a DD again.

This is a bit surprising. Even my 1985 Corolla GT-S would allow the windshield to get sprayed pretty well before activating the wipers. My old as GS300 was the same. Both IS cars were the same and so it the Civic. I don’t really do it much anyway. I don’t particularly care for it when the person in front of me uses the feature at 70 mph on the freeway, but it is what it is.

Actually they do, the C Class I had the wipers hid completely out of sight and popped up when they were turned on. The S580 they pop down a little but you can still see the top of the drivers side wiper.

I do like the looks of the new Land Cruiser.
But 8.0 seconds flat 0-60 from this mess of a hybrid engine.... meh. Getting terrible MPG reports as well, nowhere near rated.
It's not supposed to be a dragster but that is slowwwww.......
V8 200s were pretty quick for 3 tons.
This is slower than the outgoing 20 year old (basically) 4R.
