It's really nice, so much to do that 3 weeks doesn't even begin to let you see it all. You will have a great time! Get the helo tour package and 2 day cruise for whale watching

I’m not sure where you’re getting your information from, but no, that’s not correct. Any EV/PHEV would be charged up for $3 per day. The Teslas were all lined up! $35 a day for a regular spot, $38 for an EV spot that included charging, with no limits on battery size.

i thought you rented a pacifica phev?

but that's great if the $3 covers full ev's too.

I love old ads like that. The 96 Taurus was a good looking car, especially in that green.

It just hit me that school zones are back in effect Monday morning. Kids nowadays go back to school earlier. First day was always the Tuesday after Labor Day.

Yes, I had a Pacifica PHEV, but it was the same cost regardless of the type of EV.

Got a comically expensive brake job in, Mercedes really tries hard to beat everyone on price the wrong way lol!

Why does the contact surface have different levels? Does the braking performance improve as they wear out since more contact area?

Its for slider type calipers, the chamfers allow the pads to smoothly engage when applied when new(er) because the moving part of the caliper doesn't exactly clamp perfectly straight. Technially speaking when you run out of chamfer the pad needs to be replaced and as you can see that's about when the wear sensor triggers

This prevents odd edge wear and angled pad wear until the pad gets shorter in height and allows the slider to clamp more evenly, if the pad/rotor can still clamp hard enough to trigger ABS when new then max brake performance is the same/tire limited. I'm fairly sure brake feel is better when the pad is more worn though from everything I have felt, fixed and monoblock calipers don't have this disadvantage among many other plus sides of that design.

Explains why my rears have the chamfers' end and the wear indicator at about the same wear level. You just made me look up the reason why they're there, since at least on the IS/GS350s (and all cars with the same front calipers) the fronts are monoblocks and the pads still have a chamfer - apparently it's also about reducing NVH.

Interesting.....I've not really seen the chamfers on monoblock pads, I'm going to have to go through my records now and look again.

EDIT: Looks like minor ones vs slider pads, makes sense to me as the ones without are uh.....screechy. That's the one thing I really dislike about my W12 since it has the excessive size brakes

@AMIRZA786 A lot better ⛽️ prices than California. Also I didn’t know Walmart sells Toyota/Lexus OEM filters. Changing oil on the Rav hybrid.
