I have driven these a lot, I have rented them for weeks at a time. Like I said I couldn't wait to get my S Class back when I had that GLS for a week, and thats smaller and more carlike than a Yukon.
Throttle response is excellent from the 6.2, I think GM cars in general always have had good throttle response.

What is a modern high end Mercedes gas pedal like? Mine is olllld school. LONNNNNNNNG pedal travel but precise. Yukon would already be down 3 gears and near redline before I even got to the kickdown switch, at least in my OLD Benz. SL would be dusted in a roll.

What about turning radius in both? I’ve got to get my laptop going.

The throttle response is nothing like the S580 lol. Its a 6,000 lb truck, it doesn't feel light on its feet ever.

The throttle response is very quick, the low end torque of the TTs helps with that. In comfort mode the throttle is longer, but I keep the engine in sport mode.

I daily drive both a luxury sedan and a 400 HP pickup truck.

The truck will never, ever, beat the sedan for nimbleness and agility. It's so much easier to dart and pass in the 540i. I can go from 60-100 in the blink of an eye.

I love driving both, but they're very different driving experiences.

Is yours the 3.0L Turbo, mild hybrid? If I ever go back to ICE, it's a BMW for sure

I do really like Steve's S Class. It's got me thinking. I thought about dumping the Civic and getting something more luxurious. It is true that I am 53 and I am driving a mid life crisis looking car. Things are a bit murky at work with layoffs looming and if I were to unload the Civic, it affects my folks too because they have my factory18s on their 2016 Civic Touring. I am going to sit tight but I will be back in something more luxurious before too long.

3.0 I6 Turbo, but no hybrid system. It's deceiving because it DOES have regenerative braking LOL. But that just charges the 12v battery to reduce the workload of the alternator apparently. It's a fantastic powertrain. Boost comes on instantly and you have full torque from about 1300 RPM all the way up. If you can keep your foot out of it, it even does okay on gas.

If the wheels on your car look ok you probably won't get a penny more for trade in putting the factory wheels back on.

There...
One less thing to worry about friend. 🤓

It has wheels that maybe don’t belong on a Civic and I suppose I could put them on my folks car lol but I don’t think selling it as is and coming out ok is realistic.I’m in no rush but my brother’s Jag has made me interested in higher end cars.

I know you've mentioned the IS 500 before as a candidate. Do it! You won't regret it. The 2025 is coming in Flare Yellow with some new cool looking BBS wheels.

So they must have changed it. The SL has the classic MB lonnnnnng pedal travel that won’t call up the most aggressive downshift until you hit the kick down switch. It adapts if you start to have fun, though.

Your SL is NA with a cable throttle, the S580 is 48v EV plus a TT engine and a fully electronic throttle that can be adjusted based on the drivers preference. Can't compare the two at all. It can have the classic relaxed long throttle or it can have a much more responsive throttle at the push of a button.
