That's super strict.
How would they know unless they're watching on a hidden camera. Spooky... Lol

No not for a ticket. I actually applaud the policy which is that, when you are driving, drive. Do not attend meetings from a moving car if you are driving. They want us to not be distracted drivers. Pull off to a safe place if you need to be in a meeting or skip it if it doesn’t work. This is not punitive. They wouldn’t care if I got a speeding ticket for example. They are sending a message that I think is important because most drivers are bad drivers without any distractions. I actually doubt that they would fire anyone anyway for using Bluetooth in the car, but they make their point.

Haha no not exactly. You have to give them permission, which I have no issues with. There's a consent form that asks for permission in the touch screen. If you don't want them to access, you just deny it

I saw something where a crime took place and Tesla was parked nearby and they used the Tesla cameras in search of evidence.

Police would need a warrant. Same as Ring doorbells, security cameras etc. Also it's assuming Sentry is on. Not everyone turns Sentry on.

Footage is stored on a USB drive in the glove box

Like the time they leaked video internally because employees have access? Very bold of you to assume you have control of cameras you don't have code access to or fully localized control

It can be forced out of you extremely easily, any data on your car is not yours and they can and do sell/use t however they want. That's why I have cars with removed modems so there is no longer any chance of an external link.

My days and metrics are mine thanks. If you want them pay me for them, same reason I run a local VM on network that does literally nothing but randomly watch YouTube and click random sites to generate so much useless noise metrics on me make no sense

Those employees were fired. Tesla gains nothing but lawsuits by accessing camera footage illegally. And if they do, it's not like they are going to see me dancing naked 🤣

Let them have it. Whatever data they collect (which I've given permission) only makes the car better

They wouldn’t need to actually use a warrant most likely, but yes you’re right.

However If police needed my doorbell footage for some alleged crime I would give it to them.

In other news, I really hate the new Land Cruiser.

4 cylinder hybrid, 0-60 in 8 plus seconds! What a jokkkkkkkkke. And yes I will die on this hill, in 2024 there aren’t even words for how unacceptable that is. Half the fun of a 200 is the V8. Then I hear this doesn’t even get that great of mileage.

So. For $75k you get performance numbers from 25 years ago and I guess slightly better mileage that nobody cared about anyway with the old one.

I think I’m getting rid of our “LNDCRUZ” license plate. An LX570 has nothing to do with this mess.

Maybe “GASGZZL” now.
