"cleetus" - real name lawrence garrett mitchell was on youtube WAY before (2009) he apparently got into racing (2022). his 'racing' is simply a way to have content for his youtube.

Cleetus McFarland - Wikipedia

just another phony redneck pleasing the proles with very noisy gimmicks and burnouts.

true. even i struggle with some of it now, especially the endless sarcasm.

One of the employees in our San Antonio office who is an old friend going back to 1998 is originally from Manchester, moved to North Carolina (worked for Glaxo), now lives in San Antonio. I learned a bunch of dialect from him over the years, like dodgy, a word he uses a lot 🤣
'dodgy' is a good word.

some phrases they use though i don't care for including "if i'm honest..." - why no, i'd prefer you to lie.
when they tell me "don't worry...": about whatever they're taken aback when i say "i don't worry."
my sister's constantly telling me what i 'should do". uh, no.

Mercedes...if they are going to make it so complex, atleast make it faster than a M3 with no electric motors / batteries. What benefit does it even have over the M3? Slower, sounds bad, heavy, complex.
The Mercedes/AMG badges clearly.....

I'm really curious how close a 340i would be with a tune only, the CS is almost non-sense for this type of test as a lot of it's vibe is track/handling and cool factor.

Yes sir, I predict the fate of these engines is a short life. Lol

Too much HP per liter is not a good thing for longevity... Lol

The BMWs have actually proven themselves well, the Mercedes engine on the other hand not so much. But hey, that's what leasing is for!

It's trying to get "more for less". Ends up being more expensive and complicated

There's little or no problem if you drive sensibly, use good oil and change it, and don't use a heavy right foot all the time....that's what wears out the turbo.

Exactly! Haha
There's cars you buy and then there's the ones you just lease and let go.. 🛸

From what you told us about it, you learned quite a bit from your first Pacifica LOL...although the current one seems to be a lot better.

Surprisingly not really. They dont suck in hard enough to hurt your hand, but you kind of have to pull your hand up out of it while it snaps back in to the door. Just a silly design, total definition of form over function

Interesting. I would have guessed a little more for the Bel Air. It goes to show the weight that all of the safety gear, amenities and options add to the overall weight.

They're running 37 PSI of boost in that thing. To keep it alive they dropped the compression ratio to 9.0:1. Low compression plus a big turbo like that means turbo lag, which is why they have to tack on the hybrid system.

I could see these being reliability nightmares.

I know many believe Lexus have lost their way...which I somewhat agree with, imo Mercedes has lost their way even more. Tesla doing Tesla things...for less than half the cost of either of these, it would be interesting to see a case study if a significant amount of buyers for these high performance compact cars consider / get a M3P over the Germans.
I can not believe how awful these cars sound, especially that MB. I bet they sell about 2 here in the USA. I've heard it before and it was awful, but more here.

That Benz sounds like some 1980s Hyundai revving... harrrrd pass. V8 coming back.

Are you saying the M3 CS sounded bad as well? I've driven the M4 Comp (same engine) and it sounds AWESOME! And with it's almost supercar performance, the 3.0L TT I6 ain't going nowhere. No comment on the AMG
