I’ll have to turn this tag in soon, but that’s a good thing.
Meanwhile I’m enjoying the parking. Your car is out front under surveillance and nobody is gonna mess with a car right by the door.
Got new brakes all around, drilled rotors look killer. The last set didn’t have them. This makes the third set of rotors in 70k miles. This car was treated like a queen prior to me. I didn’t like it at first but I’m digging the roll bar up. Makes the car look even meaner.

My point, was, don't drive around with a heavy right foot all the time, and one will not have to concern themself with turbo lag.
I don't necessarily drive like Grandma, but I can't remember the last time I ever used more than about 60-70% throttle in typical daily driving, except very briefly when doing a test-drive or review...and, even then, with a brand-new engine, I don't go over 4000-4500 RPM.

The M3 CS has more HP (it's way understated by BMW), and like I said, it's a beast with almost supercar performance. I had no doubt before I clicked to watch that it was going to win, but I didn't know by how much
The electric motors are what made the Mercedes so fast by giving it a boost

I’m eager to test drive the new M2 but don’t see myself getting rid of my M3 for that. M2cs will be out next year.
The other thing about new M cars is that’s attracting the wrong type of crowd which causes them to be police magnets and have high insurance.

Nice to not worry about turbos wearing out in any case, because they do. All my cars are displacement, oriented-for-torque V8s.

I've learned my lesson messing with the exhaust. I wanted to get more sound out of my 2018 Civic Si, so I replaced the stock exhaust with a 3" Performance exhaust. This meant removing the resonator. The "growl" was awesome, but once it all wore off, the drone over 50 mph was unbearable. I spent the next few months and hundreds of dollars trying out different third party resonators with very little success. My wife couldn't stand to be in the car, and my passengers would say "sounds like a sports car", which was code for it's too loud. Unfortunately could not go back to the stock exhaust as I didn't have any place to store it and disposed it. Ended up selling the car to Carvana, who overpaid for cars in those days
Stock exhaust in my Honda. Loud enough for me. Missing a few hp but I’ll be fine… for now at least.

Its so sad about the new BMWs - amazing straight line performance but the styling is so bad. They are also much bigger, heavier and don’t feel as direct compared to the F80 generation.

Must be a rich rowdy crowd, because that's who would be buying or leasing this car

Just confirming again that an LS430 loses significant power under regular fuel.
Mine was dead as a doornail so I threw some rotgut gas into it to let it idle for an hour or so to bring it up to charge.
When that was over I went and put premium in it and it felt significantly faster and more eager.

That's why my 40 reserve gallons are all pure gas 98 from Sunoco lol

and an hour of idling?!? idk about the 430 but for my car the manual makes a point to say don't idle for more than 20 minutes at a time as it can damage the catalytic converter

i'm confused, did you even drive it with regular gas or just let it idle? would be very interested in some dynojet results of regular vs premium

the "minimum" for my car is 91 but the manual says 87 will be ok just for a bit until you can find more premium

Very few cars say the minimum is 93 because not everywhere has 93...so they say 91. The only one I have personal experience with is my friend's 911 says 93 is the minimum octane.
