1:30 AM coding is done. Guy is in Singapore…I can understand why it costs more to code the W223, it took him almost 5 hours.
ILS and headlights in general are a huge upgrade! $827 to code the lights and the remembering of the drive mode and engine start stop…but it’s done. Works great.

Thats a huge surcharge!
@Striker223 I did some research and the W223 has electric oil and transmission fluid pumps, so there is no loss of oil pressure when the engine start stop is on, or loss of oil or trans fluid pressure when in Eco and using glide mode.

Full on electric only pumps would have to have insane rate and pressure ability, I would be really concerned for their lifespan if they are truly running indirect pumps for those uses. I've never once seen that, only supplemental pumps.
EDIT: It's hard to find info but I'm seeing a normal pump in every version of the M176 and for a 24 S580

I would be amazed if that's true but I keep seeing a crank mounted oil pump for that engine, transmissions have accumulators for a while now so that I'm not shocked by. I have two cars in immediate family including one of mine that has that setup for start stop smoothness so I'm familiar with that method....

The Maybach S680 at least is not 48V, and the M176 engine that was in my S560 had an old style mechanical pump.
Singapore is a long drive lol, but yeah all remote.
All those same warnings came up that came up when I had the PPF done, he had to clear them all, and I had to run the laptop from the living room with long cords for the OBD plug to get strong enough internet. PITA…

I had it done on my S560 remotely too. Pretty cool. I needed a Windows laptop and an OBD to Ethernet cable. He ports in using team viewer and then does his thing.

Does the coding get erased when you take it in for service and they update the firmware? That is one of the reasons why I never had my X7 done but I wished I had it done for the matrix laser lights since it was so cheap to do. It was only a couple hundred bucks but the ECU in my 2021 is way less complicated than the newer ones so I wouldn't be surprised if it is the same price on the newer BMWs.

Note that it’s specifically for the Maybach S580 and it’s discontinued. I have found it on several sources that at least the regular S580 has an electric oil and transmission pump.

Yeah, we are so far behind with headlights. The law or whatever is antiquated because there has to be a dedicated low and high beam setting, typical Uncle Sam.
All they need to do is flip a switch or sign something to allow it here, pretty much.
