I think it's actually legal in the US as of 2022. Is this the same as Adaptive headlights?

for whatever reason BMW never provides software updates to unlock features so no way they provide an update which is so frustrating.

I thought the law changed as well but no one is offering the matrix light still in the U.S. for some reason. Tesla has the hardware for it in the refreshed Model S and if anyone would provide a software update to enable it, it would be them so I’m not sure what’s going on.

The new gen stuff is actually a hell of a great deal at only $4400 a headlight since my older cars with gen 1 and non-matrix costs $2800 and $3850 respectively and that's without factoring inflation. The new stuff does a lot more for less cost, my cars do a lot of the beam aiming and road contour following as well at high speed they throw more forward and cut side lighting to reduce distraction. The matrix car is actually dimmer than the non but it can run it's full beam at all times and it also has the highlight function, the non-matrix car technically also has this but it's using the thermal night vision system to do it/warn me. The new cars combine all of it into one unit

Adaptive is just auto high beams or swing beams.

ILS/Matrix is full active beams with 100s of zones that dim around other cars, signs, highlight objects and people, and have the maximum output running at all times. It's basically a high end laser/LED projector with ability to play video with the newest versions actually in terms of resolution, the whole point is power of the sun at all points on the road except where other drivers are.

Last year, NHTSA created a certification process for these new lights, but the test varies from those around the world, meaning anything that was designed for that global standard won't comply with U.S rules. The current standard from the Society of Automotive Engineers (J3069) is used in all the countries named above.
Some of the differences in testing between J3069 and the final rule adopted by NHTSA include applying the glare limits at all ranges as opposed to at specific points (30 meters, 60 meters, etc.) in the SAE test. The final rule also specifies actual curves of various sizes as opposed to using simulated curves as well as using actual vehicles instead of assemblies intended to simulate vehicle lamps. NHTSA defended its choice noting that many of the tests are the same.

So I'm bored and on Copart and looking for something temping and I noticed the search function lets you sort by cylinder count, naturally I was curious about percentages....the breakdown basically matches what I expected.
Of all 320,771 cars currently on Copart
57% are 4 cyl
30% are 6 cyl
7.9% are V8s
.00178% are V10s
.00041% are 12s

It's basically a high end laser/LED projector with ability to play video with the newest versions actually in terms of resolution, the whole point is power of the sun at all points on the road except where other drivers are. The latest systems also integrate into cell tower/GPS signal to follow the road very accurately at high speeds, some of the cars also pre-emptively adjust suspension based on gps data for turns etc.

Yes it is a Ginetta G56 I believe. A friend of mine that races and just joined a team is just starting to race them. I think they bought two or three of these. I can’t remember how much he said they had in them but I think it was around $120k-$130k but I can’t remember the exact number.
