Check this out......another armchair NASCAR-jock, trying to be Tony Stewart while racing a Miata, wrecks his Camaro trying to impress people.

It was not a blown tire or other mechanical defect. He apparantly just understeered while going too fast for the corner, and the front end plowed ahead.

How will we be good racers unless we make mistakes?
"Practice makes perfect".

Probably should be done far away though, like in a closed course as in Fast and Furious, Tokyo Drift.

I don't think the blame was trying to impress people. He just screwed up and did it wrong.

Seems like a little of both.

Also shows what a precise and balanced car the Miata is in cornering. You rarely if ever see one of those spin out or go into a wall like the Camaro.

Camaros are some of THE best handling cars period, the final gen 1LE is absurdly good. A skill issue is a skill issue.....

I became friends with a guy who’s very well known in the AE86 and FRS/Toyota communities and is a very accomplished driver. He always suggested learning how to drive slow cars fast either in autocross or on a closed course. It makes sense to me. I have seen several drivers go to big power with not a lot of experience and with less than ideal results. You can still make mistakes in slow cars. It’s generally a bit easier to recover from them. Just my opinion, though.

yes, but the miata is also a very slow car lol i don't see it even being able to get going fast enough to crash so early on in the race... the miata was also on the inside where the better grip is, if you're off the racing line the track is more slippery and you run the risk of hitting the 'marbles' which are little rolled up bits of rubber from other tires
