Block doesn't have to be cast iron. Add 1 cylinder go for a closed deck and get rid of the 3-piece design which will increase rigidity. Of course there is another perfect solution that we can't talk about here.

Nope. I've seen x-ray and metallurgical tests on various blocks JZ wins it is superior. Very expensive alloy and process that's why no one else did it.
