I'll go with the Toyota 4Runner and Lexus GX/LX. The others, I'm not so sure.....IMO, recent ones are not built as well as older versions.

My 2008 IS F has 230k on it, and it's still just as fast as it was day one. The wife's 2016 GS F has almost 140k miles on it, and it's not showing any signs of issues preventing it from completing 250k miles. The low mileage car is the 1993 Supra with 162k on the odometer.

you said you're interested in a hybrid version of your 3 cylinder buick encore gx if they made one, which to me implies you're concerned about fuel economy even though i don't think you drive a lot of miles. so would you really 'go with a 4runner or gx/lx'? they all get horrible fuel economy.

All pre-2010 engine designs before they got lazy though.....not surprised at all you are doing fine. It's the newer stuff (and lower end for that matter) that's been concerning.

IMO, and particularly for my living conditions, yes, a hybrid makes a lot more sense than a pure EV. But I am not really disappointed with the gas mileage I'm getting out of my ICE version. While I get maybe around 25 overall around town, it does 50+ on a level highway under ideal conditions, far more than its own EPA Highway-estimate, and better than many hybrids.
