How old are your kids now? I suspect that in a few more years they will be ready to start practicing a little behind the wheel....on private property, like maybe a mall parking-lot, where it is legal. I first practiced steering a little when I was around 7 or 8, but didn't really practice true driving till I was 15 or 16.

They will be 10 in February. My son sits on my lap and drives the last 1/2 mile to our house if we come back from dinner after dark, my dad used to do the same thing with me when I was a kid. My daughter doesn’t have any interest…
