BMW X5 4.6 or Lexus GX470
I went to go look at a 04 BMW X5 4.6 this morning and really like it, I have yet to really take a good look at the new GX470 or the LX470... In you people NONE BIASED opinions, what would you prefer I get?
BTW, I'm not going to spend any more than $70k for EVERYTHING.....

X5 HANDS DOWN. Sadly, the GX is probably the first UNRELIABLE Lexus. So many quirks. Either get the X5 or if you want, wait for them to fix all the problems and then get the GX. I love the styling on the X5 though.

Loved the styling before, the '04 refresh with the new angel eyes headlights is even sharper. Looks like it would be a lot more fun to drive than the GX, to boot.

Have you checked out the Infinity FX45, it's quite a contender. Give it a chance, if you like the looks. According to Car and Driver, it beat the X5 4.6 and Mercedes ML55 0-60 times. It has an excellent sounding exhaust too.

I don't care for the very narrow tall look of the GX from the front.
The LX is a bit 'old' now, but it's a FABULOUS vehicle. If you want big and luxurious, it's the way to go (or the new BMW-based Range Rover).

There is no 2004 X5 4.6is; it was discontinued after the 2003 model year. That might make your choice easier!
Given that list, by the way, I'd go for the LX470. The GX just doesn't seem in the same class. The Acura MDX has more power, more room, similar luxury features, and costs a LOT less...
