I love the back. I love the side (except for the mirrors) and I love the front. It's practically a Viper from the front. The interior looks a little boring but it doesn't look flimsy.. It says, "I'm an Audi".

Default C6 build quality

One thing that should help somewhat with the C6's potential reliability is the new exposed headlights. The electric motors, linkages and flip-up doors on the old car necessary for the hideaway headlights were often unreliable, so you often had just one headlight (or none) when you needed two. Or they would jam in the up position and just sit there and look ugly.
Mazda did the same thing with the last Miata redesign....got rid of the pop-up lights for regular ones.

The new C6 has some great design elements but the 'whole' doesn't work for me.

The picture to me below shows how the front is too low or the rear is too high (take your pick), the front looks a bit too long - it just doesn't look balanced. I'm sure it's a heck of a great drive, but it's not a 10 in my styling book.

Purchase or no, GM products tend to get a lot of comments in this column about poor build quality....much of it deserved. My point, though, that even with so-so fit-and finish and a tendency to get a lot of squeaks and rattles, a ' Vette is a LOT of car for the money. European sports cars like the 911 that offer similiar performance often cost twice as much.

Agreed....On this very forum there is a thread about the reliability (or lack of) of the BMW M5. While most would agree it is a great car, there are some sacrifices one must be willing to make to have a performance car that is tuned to the extreme limits of the drivetrain. The Corvette is no different. And wether you love it or hate it, its a performance bargain at around 50K. Trust me, with the top down and the throttle wide open on a 'Vette, you are not paying any attention to squeaks and rattles. As with most performance cars, it's more of an emotional decision than a rational one.
