Congragulations, jinxo.
Congragulations. I'm not going to bad-mouth your purchase like some of the other guys here. You know, if you have read some of my replies in other columns here, that while I don't think much of the General's build quality, the fact is that the ' Vette is a LOT of car for the money, especially in the base versions.....European and Japanese competitors with the the same performance level usually cost around twice as much. Even so, a new ' Vette is not chump change, and I'm sure you took somewhat of a step of faith buying it.
Good luck with it.
Good luck with it.

The headlights look like they were borrowed from a 3000GT

I like it. I has more curves now that make it look muscular. I especially like the rear end styling because it has more "feature" in it compared to the slab-sided rear-end of the current car. The only thing I don't like are the details in the headlights, it looks too busy. Viewed from the front, the Vette resembles a Viper. All in all, I like the car and you get a lot of bang-for-the-buck. They should improve on the quality (article stated big gaps and parts borrowed from the GM parts bin).

Overall I like the car. But there are some things that im not too crazy about.
For me...the jury is still out on the front end. The back end is growing on me. At first glance it kind of said C4ish.....i dont know...every time i see a pic, its growing on me. From the sideview, the car is a winner. Im not too keen on the interior yet. Im anxious to see it and see the quality of it in person. To me, the C5 interior has more character to it judging from the pics.
Its funny....I used to be a huge C4 fan. When the C5 came out I was like WTF...that is nasty. After my cousin bought a C5 in the summer of 98, and I had a chance to drive it and see it up close on just about a daily basis, I fell in love. So i dont know where I will land with this one. If history repeats itself, I will love it!

The C6 is a beautiful and powerful car, and if the quality of it holds up, I'd really like to hear some of the neagatives that people will try and make about this car. GM is doing great and with this new corvette, technology such as the magnetic ride control, and OHV variable valve timing (still don't understand how this works), should improve GM's image that is if everything works out right.

It seems as if they're trying to bring the Vette closer and closer into supercar territory. The C6 base model has 400 hp, and we'll have to wait another year for the Z06 (I'm guessing ~500hp)
