2004 Ford F-150!
My wife needed a vehicle to pull a horse trailer so we just got a 2004 Ford F-150 FX-4 truck! I'm no truck guy, but I have to admit this thing is kinda fun to drive and is MUCH nicer than any pickup I've ever been in. We contemplated the new Nissan Titan but didn't want to go for the 'first effort' by Nissan into big truck territory, plus, 'horse people' (like trailer vendors) know nothing about 'foreign' trucks so we decided to go with the F-150.
It's a 4x4 with 5.4L V8 with 300HP and 365lb/ft torque, 3.73 rear end and tow package (extra coolers, hooks, hitch, etc.)

i came up on a couple friends of mine that work at a nissan dealership on their Titan training day... they had a new F150 all taken apart on the floor to compare parts quality and build quality... the ford was nothing but plastic...

But anyway, in the horse world, NO ONE drives trucks other than Ford, Chevy and Dodge so my wife was feelin' some peer pressure, hehe. Given that the Ford F-150 is a highest selling vehicle on the planet, it can't be that bad.

Good choice Bit. The truck looks good, BTW my brother is looking for one too, either the Ford F-250 Diesel or the Chevy 2500 Diesel. I saw some of the Ford with the lift kit and man , that thing looks sick. Way to go and especially towing the horse and the trailer behind. So, are you gonna mods that bad boy... ?

Well, it couldn't be 'nothing but plastic'. The Armada (Nissan SUV) with similar traits to the Titan which I haven't seen in person yet, has been reviewed as having a really cheap interior.

Well, I could be a chevy-lovin A hole (like I am), but I gotta give it up. Nice lookin' truck you got there. If all the advertising speaks the truth, should be an even better version of the number one selling vehicle on the planet.

Thanks guys.
jet864, appreciate the words despite being a "chevy-lovin A hole" . Chevy makes great trucks, but I just don't care for the front end look of the newest ones. People are falling for the 'hemi' marketing b.s. in droves too, and enjoying their 9mpg . I really don't like the 'shopping cart' grate on the front of those Dodge trucks.
SDuquette - I'm sure Nissan will do very well with the Titan, and Toyota will do well with the larger Tundra they're bringing out soon. But there isn't a Toyota with decent towing capacity today, and the Titan is just too new for me to be comfortable buying it.
VVT-i - mod the truck? Only with a spray bed liner and a gooseneck hitch probably.

the '04 f-150 has been talked up by every enthusiast on the net, as well as every commercial they have run. It is supposed to be a whole new critter from the last years of production, and exceptionally good vehicle for inside comfortability "for a truck". Noise free cabin, superior suspention, more juice under the hood...... said to be the best revision ever.

Nice truck bit, the interior of the new F-150's is much improved, I love the center console shifter. The truck looks HUGE next to the GS, and the GS isn't small!
Is it as quiet inside as advertised?
