Corvette/GM designers are so scared to take a chance, it looks like a freshned C-4 in the long run. Sam A-b pillars, same glass in the back. The wheelbase is longer, it's wider but basically the same design. THough I guess the same could be said for Porsche and the 911. For the price, it's the sports car to have. I am not feeling the styling, have to see in person. I really like the looks of the C5. Since the platform is shared with the XLR, it must be amazing for a Chevy.
Anyone been to the Vette museum? I have, cool place. ANyway, looks aside, this car rocks.

<<The picture to me below shows how the front is too low or the rear is too high (take your pick), the front looks a bit too long - it just doesn't look balanced. >> is there a possibility that the low front or high rear exudes the cyclicle law of design from the reflection the corvette 66?
speaking of exuding;

Would I own one? No. How can you go from a Lexus to a Chevy? Corvettes are the "blue collar dream car". I'd rather pay extra and get an SC430.
I think they did a decent job with the new version though. They should have changed that CHEAP LOOOKING front emblem though - they could keep the symbol, just make it a higher quality. Also, I think the rear tail lights/back end could have been more "Ferrari-ized" like the front. It looks too much like the old Corvette in the back. Those tailights look cheap too.

Just my opinion.

Yes, I want one, in black. They've done everything right since the C5, it's much smaller, lighter, faster with better weight distribution and suspension setups and is about the same base price (supposedly) as the C5.
This is the first corvette that I truly want, as long as the real peformance numbers match what they should be, it will be an excellent car for 1/3 the price of a Ford GT, and if they make a Z06 or the "Blue Devil" version, watch out...

Well, it's easy to get excited in the hype of a new 'Vette launch. Yes, it's an American institution, but remember....too many times in the past we've seen and heard this before.....all the hoopla about an "all-new " 'Vette.....and too often it ended up just the same old squeaks, rattles, flimsy interior, and cheap materials all wrapped up in a fresh new fiberglass wrapper with a whole lot of torque and some fat tires.
So the REAL test will be a couple of years from now when they have some miles on them......to see if GM really DID address the quality problrms that has plagued past models.
If GM in fact did....and only time will tell.....hey, more power to them.
