I don't know if I'll buy one in the future yet, but it looks good.

Hell, why not? Show me a better car for the price and I'll take it. One of the best mod-responding cars, lightweight, all fiberglass, great looks, fast, and now even has NAV and HIDs. Seeing that familiar engine cover with LS2 written across it gives me the chills. I may have to convince the old man to trade in his 01 vette coupe in a few months. The legend lives on...

P.S.
Jim, thanks for being the official forum vette master. You got all the updates

James

I think the design is a nice evolution of the C5, which is still a performance car bargain when compared to the exotics. Regardless of the styling, you know it's an awesome driver. I hope to get behind the wheel someday and see for myself. A Corvette is defenitely on my list of cars to own.

The C6 wILL be my next sports car. It is nearly a fact that no other sports couple out there can touch it iwith regards to the "total package" of looks, performance, daily driveability, reliability, warranty, cost of ownership, and aftermarket potential at almost twice the money. After I win the lottery and quit my job, I plan to take the C6 on a 6 week whirlwind tour of the USA and line up all the GM haters on the major open road coarses and quarter mile tracks to show them why ignorance is often not bliss

I'll repost what I said in the other thread about the C6 since it seems to have fizzled.

The new C6 has some great design elements but the 'whole' doesn't work for me.

The picture to me below shows how the front is too low or the rear is too high (take your pick), the front looks a bit too long - it just doesn't look balanced. I'm sure it's a heck of a great drive, but it's not a 10 in my styling book.

I was thinking I would get a used 911 but I voted it down for a couple of reasons. The first was size a little to small for me, I need a car a little wider than a 911, second was the price 50k for a used 1999/2000 model. Otherwise great car.

The Vette is looking better everyday. I expect to test one out to see how it feels. The interior needs to be improved and GM is claiming they did a better job??

The C6 looks good and has lots of power. The ZO6 in 2006 will have near 500hp...I hope.

Quality with GM is hit or miss so I know a 7/100k mile warranty will be part of the deal. Most of all my mother in law retired form GM and I can buy one for about 10% off sticker or a couple of grand below invoice But the GMO paln will not be offered on the Vette until inventory is high and that will be sometime. I would never buy the first year GM anyway but the 2nd or 3rd year yes

Time is always on our side.

I don't like that pic either. The contour of the ground seems to be curved, like a small hill. It doesnt do it justice IMO. I really like the other pics, especially the bronze-ish color ones.

It is obvious that GM has addressed several if not most MAJOR problems I had with it's "Flagship Sports Car" if not Flagship Car:

As stated by the latest Auto Week Mag:
Sleeker Tighter, Quicker, and more Refined
The **** was waaaay too wide, large, and awkward IMO on the C5

Pop-up headlamps are basically...wack!

Not only getting rid of them shiz was a great idea, but they managed to almost mirror the 360 Modena's at
the same time, which has always been a favorite of mine!

Shortening the cars length and width but yet retaining the same interior space was a no-brainer and a plus.

All-New suspension upgrades on every model including the 'Z51' option which will take this run-of-the-mill Vette to Z06 performance numbers!

The interior has been commented by all mag editors as "Considerably better w/ major improvements."

And of course.........Who can argue against this 6.0 GEN 4 V8 LS2 powerplant good for 400hp & 400 ft./lbs torque!

I'm gonna even say it has some of the nicest "Stock wheels" on the planet.

Basically.... I'm not one to hang onto a car for more than 2 yrs. (my GS4 was the considerable excception!) and thus, I'll let a year go by to see what owners, editors, and service departments are saying about the C6. Not too mention, the All-New 500hp (which I bet it'll be damn close) Z variant. Before I retire the 350Z.

Either way so far, I'm extremely impressed with this $40k car that has been stabily tested at 180mph and looks damn good.

On another note, I recently saw a Black Cadillac XLR and it was AWESOME!!!!

And there's something about this BLACK one that's just.........
