CLK is C-Class based

CL is the coupe version of the S-Class.

CLK is based of the E-Class

W209 is the code for CLK
W203 for C
W211 for E
W215 for CL
W220 for S

I still dont find the missing link?

I believe the CLK is based on a modified C-Class platform. The new CLS is like a 4 door E-Class coupe.

I don't know exactly how their codes work, but isn't W209 between W203(C Class) & W211(E class)?

Does someone wanna explain this 4 door coupe business to me? I was always under the impression that 4 doors=sedan and 2 doors=coupe. Don't get it.

I don't get it either. Maybe it's a new-age marketing thing? Like "'sport' utility vehicle."
