Hottest Models for Dec. 03
Did that get your attention?
According to WSJ, January 14, 2004. Hottest models for December 2003.
Model/Days on the Lot before Sale/Averge Price
1.Toyota Prius/8/23,333
2.Mercedes SL Class/12/104,084
3.Mini Cooper/12/22,827
4.Toyota Sienna/12/29,596
5.Honda Pilot/13/30,790
6.Lexus GX470/13/48,366
7.Lexus LS430/13/57,569
8.Lexus ES330/14/32,920
9.Acura MDX/15/39,464
10.Honda CR-V/16/21,510
11.Lexus RX330/16/39,599
List is top 10 but went to 11 because of ties. GS needs that new model but good grief, four Lexus and two more Toyota's in the top 10. Any notion of the demise of Lexus is greatly exaggerated.

Holy...good to see. This is really good news, showing Toyota and LExus are still going strong and not letting up. So, 6 from the Toyota family, 3 from the Honda family, 1 MB and 1 MINI. I say over half is a ver strong accomplishment. I like this study because it deals with ahrd facts only. No opinions to argue with, no editors who could be biased. This and the reliability tests show ver accurate and useful facts IMO.

The SL because of the price and the Cooper, because, well, I don't see many of them!

There's still a ~2 years waiting list for the SL in some places, so you'd expect their days on lot to be even less than that.

But I really have to say that with all the hand wringing about the demise of the Lexus brand, primarily driven on this site by the fortunes of the GS (and a lesser extent the IS), it was easy to get lulled into thinking that Lexus just didn't have any pop anymore. Seeing every Lexus model other than the GS and IS on the top ten list for December makes you speculate on where Lexus emphasis is going to be.
