Bump . . .
Nothing like bumping an old thread!
I recently installed CarChip on my Lexus SC430 (2003). It worked well, but disabled my VSC. I'm not a NASCAR driver and don't drive in snow, so I didn't get too upset. However, I checked with the folks that make it and they said use the "toyota" exception for "anomalous" cars. That only disabled my anti-lock brakes, so I went back to the default.
They then suggested using the "ISO" protocol, which I admit appears to be the correct one from my research. However, my VSC remains disabled and no longer works even when the Chip is removed. I have no way of knowing what might have happened had I set the chip to "ISO" the first time and if my VSC being disabled is now unrelated to that.
Anyone using the CarChip with an SC 430?? Anyone know how to reset the VSC without Lexus charging me an arm and a leg??

Many recent cars automatically keep a record of the data for at least five seconds before an accident. It has been VERY useful in court and law enforcement, helping to determine who was (or is) telling the truth or lying about how fast they were going, how and when they hit the brakes, whether they were accelerating, braking, if the engine stalled or not, whether ABS, traction control, or VSC was activated, etc.....
