That's pretty funny.

But it's also a good idea. This thread seems to be going nowhere fast. I'm choosing not to respond to any more posts by MSBoy, so do as you wish.

i dont think it has to go that far, the Lexus vs. BMW and Lexus vs. M/B thing has been discussed ad nausea, so why not just agree to disagree? The fact that we drive what we drive and others drive what they drive makes it obvious what factors set precedent in the car buying process.

Cant we all just get along?? LOL

Very wise of you. You were just making yourself look bad and I was simply highlighting it.

I was taking the same route as well though (not responding to you inparticular). That's why I signed my name at the bottom of my final post. Peace.

C'mon D! You know I get along and you know this thread had nothing to do with Lex vs. BMW as far as I was concerned. I was simply asking the gentleman to produce some facts to support his claims (rants). You know I don't question Lexus stuff cuz I know it's some of the hottest shizzy out there!!!

Well all the reliability surveys (Even in Germany!!) show Japanese do a better job, quality wise, heck even the Germans admit it (look what VW's CEO said just a few weeks ago).
To add to that, the current Porsche's CEO, who came into office at the early 90's, the same one who got them out of the mess they where in, said in an interview, that one of the first things he did as Porsche's CEO is to go and learn from the ones who really know how to build cars, Toyota. He did, then came back fought his board and guess what Porsche, improved in almost any way.
Enjoy your BMW; great car I'm sure, I hope you'll never have any problems with it, but don't fool your self BMW's quality is up there with Lexus, only its perceived quality.

The AutoBILD survey confirms the trend. The first German entry on the list is BMW at number five, again trumped by Asian rivals.

VW CEO Dr. Bernd Pischetsrieder admitted to AutoBILD that "in technical terms, Toyota is better then us. But not just us."
The whole story: German Cars Disappoint Car Owners

Q: How do you continue to reap lower costs after having streamlined production so radically in the 1990s, using Japanese kaizen methods?
A: We get together with our Japanese colleagues and establish international benchmarks regularly. We visit them regularly, and they come three times a year to check out our production. It has become a kind of competition. We also go together to check out other companies. I'm very proud of what we've achieved together. We are striving for 6% to 8% improvement in productivity every year.
Recent interview with Porsche's CEO

Great video--very informative on how cars (at least BMWs) are made. I'm amazed at how brittle the sheet metal is when they begin, but once the stamping, welding, riveting is all done, you have a strong unibody.
