Default which car

I'd say the Fairlane but I wouldn't spend 45000 to make it all original because it will never be worth what other classics out there are worth. I would spend the money to make it new. Modern brakes, suspension, interior, engine, etc. If value doesn't matter, do what pulls your heart string. An all original Ford is great. Just remember, Ford didn't make such great cars back then. This doesn't matter if this car will only be a trailor queen.

Default Your wife?

So your wife wants to know why you're spending money on that car "again"?

Tell her that gas, oil, and parts don't buy themselves.

Depends on what you mean by "Classic". Most of us, of course, when we think of "Classics" we think of '55-'57 Chevies, 2-seater T-Birds, '50's and 60's vintage Corvettes, the Datsun 240Z, Mercedes SL gull-wings, early British sports cars, '32 Ford street rods, etc..... But beauty is in the eyeof the beholder....I've known people who think that the Plymouth Valiant / Dodge Dart ( the non-performance Dart) were the best cars ever built, simply because of the extreme durability of the Chrysler slant-six engine. It went routinely 200-300,000 miles in an era when most engines were either overhauled or junked around 80-90,000 miles.....and many (like Beetles) didn't go much past 60,000 without major work.

Yes, but that still doesn't change the fact that cars don't service and fix themselves.
But...... I can see where you may be coming from....some spouses don't like to be talked to this way.
Now you know one reason WHY I'm single.
