Default Most Desired Classic Cars

BuyClassicCars.com announces Top 10 Most Desired classics

The antique and classic car purchasing web-site has announced its Top 10 Most Desired domestic and import cars as compiled in its purchasing database over the past year.

"There are definitely some changes afoot - some cars that were previously on our list have now dropped off as their prices begin to take them out of the reach of most mortals," said the web-site.

The Top Ten Most Desired domestic cars are:

1965-1970 Chevrolet Chevelle
1967-1969 Chevrolet Camaro
1958-1967 Chevrolet Impala
1967-1969 Ford Mustang
1955-1957 Chevrolet 210/Bel Air
1965-1966 Ford Mustang
1965-1969 Pontiac GTO
1968-1970 Dodge Charger
1969-1970 Plymouth GTX
1967-1969 Chevrolet Corvette

The Top Ten Most Desired imports are:

1964-1973 Jaguar XKE
1964-1967 Austin Healey 3000 BJ8
1963-1971 Mercedes 230SL & 280SL
1965-1975 Porsche 911
1954-1974 VW Beetle
1950-1957 Jaguar XK120-140
1969-1974 Triumph TR6
1956-1962 MGA
1954-1963 Triumph TR2 & TR3
1950-1955 MG TD & TF

My favourite among them, the 64-73 Jaguar XKE, 63-71 SL280SL, and 67-69 Mustang. They all remind me of the first cars I recognized as a little kid, owned by neighbours.

I think that has something to do with this: "There are definitely some changes afoot - some cars that were previously on our list have now dropped off as their prices begin to take them out of the reach of most mortals," said the web-site.

I would think this list would be most purchased or somthing, not most desired.. I believe desired would be ones that people want but not necessarily have and/or able to afford which should include the more expensive ones that are out of reach for most.. jmo

Even though i wouldn't prefer a domestic, i actually wouldn't mind owning the Eleanor (the GT500) car from the new "Gone in 60 Seconds", truely a beautiful car.

Default Most Desired Classics

Why aren't the 2-seat '55-'57 Thunderbirds and the Mercedes gull-wing SL's on the list? Prices too high?
I'm also surprised not to see the '70-'72 Datsun 240Z on the list.

And....before you make fun of the 112 MPH top speed..........that's fast enough to cost you both your insurance and a nice little stay in the pokey......maybe as your cellmate's "boyfriend".
