I was just thinking, I wonder how it looks in Silver?
What Toyota may have decided is that the standard "supercar" market is becoming overcrowded, so maybe they designed the hybrid as an alternative? Only time will tell I guess.
The 3 seats look to be right beside each other in the right end of that one pic (I'd prefer the McLaren F1 layout)
2007 production? One can hope...

I like the 3 seater idea. Brings a bit of pracicallity to a supercar.

It's already won the Autoweek Editor's Choice Award in the Most Significant category. According to Autoweek, the car "could see production by 2007"!!

According to this article at
http://www.autoindex.org/news.plt?no=762 , the car can cover 700 kilometers (435 miles) with a full 52 liters (11.44 gallons) tank of gas, an equivalent of a whopping
38.02 mpg .
This 38 mpg rating is also reported in the BBS news:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/3513399.stm
Considering that the RX400h, which uses the same engine but weighs about 50% more, is rated at 36 mpg city/31 mpg highway, 38 mpg sounds about right for the Volta.
Impressive for a supercar to say the least.

Wow that's beautiful inside too! Thanks for the pics SexySC!
So far the only part I don't like is the rear. It looks so 1990!
Otherwise it's totally gorgeous and stunning IMO.
