The nissan interior looks nice kinda like the vertu phone, I'll probably have to wear gloves in there cos' I'll have finger prints all over it.

Cost of IKEA furniture: $5000

Dealer sells as additional $10,000

Dealership makes: $5000

I'm referring to a commercial in case no one understands.

well for what it's worth, all wood trims on lexus are fake to begin with anyway.
Not all. My 92 SC400 had real wood all the way around. When I took it off to have it done in carbon fiber, the back was unstained wood. I'm not sure about any of the other years though.

Wow, I can't believe Lexus uses fake wood on their cars. I was proud to know that my car uses *real* wood compared to lesser cars that try to look upscale with fake wood. What a let-down.

(I just checked my car, the wood is fake )

You sure about that? It may be a thin wood veneer on top of plastic. In fact, that's what I think it is. I have a wood ashtray and the 'plastic' one and was trying to figure out how they did the wood and to me it looks like a real thin veneer applied and clear lacquer on top.

I just checked my interior again and it looks like there is a veneer glued to the plastic but it is extremely thin (1-2 millimeters). I can't tell if it's real wood or not unless I break off a piece. Can anyone confirm if this veneer is real wood?

I don't know how easy it would be to confirm this without taking a needle and scratching to reveal such wood. Taht or just call the service or parts dept. at Lexus they be able to verify. Yeah that all make scense though its easy to flex and bend such thin pieces of wood in order to get it to curve with some of those dash console areas.

well from what i could tell (holding, knocking on it, etc..) i really can't see how it would be real wood. i have both the jdm door pieces (plastic blcakwood) and my stock trims, and i couldn't tell the weight difference at all. after the pieces are off teh car and i knocked on it, i couldn't get the "wood" sound too.

i was very surprised too when i see that. i wish they are real wood too (plesae prove me wrong though, i hope i am wrong)

I sure hope you are wrong. That would be a major let-down for me if I find out it is not real wood..........
