Default Any of you own classic American muscle cars?

I'm really interested in purchasing a classic American muscle car such as a 65, 67 Mustang, gto's, yenko, and camaro. I'm going to have it restored slowly when I do get one.

How many of you hear have a muscle car and if you have pics, could you please post them? Thanks

I would love to do that some day.
At the moment I do not have the room/time/money.

Good luck if you get one and keep us posted!!!

i only have some vetts and sting rays....

the old mustangs are a lot smaller, chickish cars(in contrast with the gtos and cameros)
which is good for city driving. it resembles a lot closer to today's car than the others with just wayyyyy toooooo long back. baracuda is ok...

cugar is a really cool one with stealth headlights. that was my #1.

Forget the Mustang: 1967 Camaro RS/SS, none other.

I have a 69' Candy Apple Red Mustang MACH1. It has a 4spd and a modified 351W engine. It's been restored, plan on selling it this spring. I'll be 64 yrs old, time to get rid of the toy.

I don't know how far you can travel, but here in the D.C. area there is a dealer that sells a lot of restored 60's muscle cars....but they are not cheap. Check out www.cherner.com

Post up pics of what you like, you're the one buying one.

Check out the 68-72 OLDS Cutlass...lots around unless you find a 4-4-2 or the ultra-rare 4-4-2 W-32. Hard-top, vinyl top or convertable.

Do not get a '68 with a 2-speed tranny. lol. I had one of those...not exactly designed for the highway.

My '72 was pretty fun but the diff went out after I had just had the transmission repaired. Plus there were some rust issues around the vinyl top.

I grew up in the late 60's with these cars. Pianoman72 is right....AVOID the GM 2-speed automatic. In Chevies it was called PowerGlide (which ended up doing more gliding than powering) , and various other names by the other divisions, but it was essentially the same POS. By necessity it had two very widely-spaced gears, and so it tended to lug from rest on start-up and then shift into high with a jerk at about 45 MPH or so. An even cheaper version called TorqueDrive on Chevies did the same thing, but you shifted it manually (no clutch) with a column shifter. Then, to add injury to insult, it usually crapped out and needed to be rebuilt at around 60,000 miles or so.
