Turbos are dangerous!
check it out....... i'm sure none of you would place yourself in that situation.... unless you have one helluva big snail under the hood.

Good luck....hope it heals up good. Fortunately you lost only the very tip there. Hopefully you won't permanently lose the use of the finger itself...though it may be numb for awhile.
Every year in military aviation....particularly on aircraft carrier decks where crews work in very close proximity....guys are sucked into the turbo-compressor inlets of jet engines. THAT, friends, is squeamish.

I've done the same thing with a table saw, working late one night. Luckily, you can't really tell on mine anymore as the blade entered through the top of my nail crosswise and managed not to go all the way though since it kicked my finger toward me, along with blood and bits on my face. I instinctively grabbed my finger with my right hand before i could see it. I was really scared as I opened my hand, but then it looked about like that guys (I figured I took off at least a knuckle before I looked).
Pretty much all off it has healed/grown back, well, there is some under the nail and side missing, but it's really hard to tell unless you know what you looking for. It was real sensitive for a year or so, but now only hurts if I intentionally compress the nail.
