The Rl looks old already. There is nothing new about this car at all. It has no presence and does not say "50k top of the line sedan". Its not ugly but I cannot figure out why they just didn't make a bigger TSX/TL clone. That would have been alright.

The new GS looks Maximaish to people as the Maxima copied the GS. The GS creates things for people to copy. The M35 looks good but looks like a new I35 or Passat. The RL looks like anycar in the parking lot.
I think Lexus styling is very, very underrated. The LS may not be the most original looking car but the rest of the lineup is pretty okay to me, ugly or pretty.

To prove the point once and for all, here are pics of the '90+ LS and '90+ S-class.
Notice how clean and tight the craftsmanship on the Lex is compared to the
Benz sloppy looking construction. The Lexus easily looks 10 years newer.
Even today, the '90 LS doesn't look that old but the Benz looks ancient in comparison.
I meant the current LS430 resembles the last gen s-class. The 2 tone paint was definitely benz. The quad headlinghts were on a 96 benz. Made it to gs in 98.
Imitation is always seen as a compliment.

Who used quad headlights first (besides Jaguar)?

LEXUS! (SC)

The '98 GS headlight cluster was inspired by the SC,
not the E class.

As far as new RL, I think its a great looking car.
However, like most have said, it is not a suitable
design for a flagship luxury sedan from Acura.
I also don't see any similarities with any other
car on the road including the Mazda 3. It's much
more unique than the current RL.

Yes - now here's the front's inspiration. Just swap in some 20s and make the headlights look like a woman wearing too much eye-shadow and you've got an instant RL.

I cannot stop laughing about this - it's just hilarious. Acura did a terrible job styling the RL. I'm not one to "warm up" to designs, but the RL makes the GS's new style look like absolute brilliance.

Hey 1Sick - I kinda prefer the Elantra .... LOL!
