STI's interior is much cheaper than EVO IMO. EVO's plastic dash, panels and upper door trims has SC430 like textures while STI has econo car like textures. Cover the remanining cloth inserts in the EVO's doors with aftermarket leather and all of the sudden, EVO starts feeling and looking very expensive. STI's plastics panels are very thin and hollow. I wish they redid STI's interior like Legacy GT.

I choose STI! Just picked one up last week. Thought about the EVO, but I don't like the anemic styling. Plus, Mitsu as a company is not giving me the warm and fuzzies.

I do agree that the interior is a bit cheapy in some areas. The seats are great, but the plastic panels are so thin. I hope to find some carbon fiber panels to replace them. But at least the interior is better than Lexus. j/k

I vote EVO because its a tuner-friendly car... not like the STi isnt, just not as much

EVO and STi stock for stock are about the same speed...
dont forget the fact that the stock EVO air/fuel ratio dips under 10:1 after like 3500-4000rpms and only peaks boost at 19psi then falls to like 15-16...
throw in an ECU tune to fix the fuel tuning and optimize the ignition, and hold the boost steady; and it makes MORE power than the Subaru... this is a simple mail-in flash upgrade, very common and very affordable (or doable in part with a S-AFC)... the EVO is very DETUNED from the factory

enough EVOs running around with over 300whp on the stock turbo with a few making almost or right at 400whp on the stock turbo... dont think you can do that with the STI

stock for stock its pretty even... but i'm not a stock kind of guy... and the EVO walks all over the subaru in this comparison. After seeing the AMS 600whp EVO in action, I gotta vote EVO

Thumbs up

I heart Subaru...

I have mad respect for the Evo, but I would have to go with the STi...it's like my car, only it has a better transmission, a bit more torque, and the handling doesn't suck. Plus it's avaliable in white with gold rims.

i'd go for the Evo....currently not an entire fan of Subaru's weird front end--

the evo is more...eye-friendly.

make that 3. That said, the ITR is NOT an STi or Evo. I myself would pick the STi because...

Mitsu is dying, slowly..
Subaru is becoming better and better..
Although both interiors are MEH, the Evo is just plain old crap..
The STi sounds better IMO.

as for the DC5 Teg, there's a reason why I have that avatar . I LOVE HIGH REVS!

See that STI up there looks like a CAR. I like that front end, I wasn't crazy about the style before though, with the circles.

if it was daily, I think it'd take the STI.

After riding in my roommates EVO, I now know how it must be to have my inner depths "explored" by a horny 300lb inmate named Tiny.

If it was the EVO IX vs the 06 STI, EVO all the way.

The IX looks better and is better than its predecessor(VIII)

The STI Looks like Poop compared to the 03-05s

Legacy GT over both, more room, easily moddable to STi power, more mature, better interior, much better styling
